Steelers vs Bengals Props – October 16

Our NFL betting expert Justin Bales has two Steelers vs Bengals props for tonight’s Thursday Night Football contest.

In this article, he’ll focus specifically on alt props.

Andrei Iosivas Receiving Yards Ladder

The entire Cincinnati Bengals offense has been a disappointment with the injury to Joe Burrow, but Iosivas has been one of the biggest disappointments. He’s totaled only 8 receptions for 121 yards on 16 targets through 6 games.

Iosivas is locked into a ton of snaps, though. He’s run 39 and 43 routes over the last two weeks, and he did flash against the Detroit Lions. He posted 5 receptions for 82 yards on 7 targets in that game.

In his only game with Joe Flacco, Iosivas saw 4 targets. He only recorded 1 reception for 5 yards, but I’m more interested in the overall role. He’s also running a ton of routes out of the slot for Cincinnati.

The Bengals get an elite matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. They’re giving up the third-most receiving yards (178.8) per game to opposing receivers. Overall, the Steelers are allowing 12.1 yards per reception.

The majority of Iosivas’ targets come near the line of scrimmage, and that should work in his favor tonight. Pittsburgh blitzes and gets pressure at an elite rate this season. That shouldn’t change against a bad Cincinnati offensive line and an immobile Joe Flacco.

The Bengals should be looking to get the ball out quickly throughout this game, giving Iosivas a slightly larger potential role.

Where to bet: Andrei Iosivas 15+ receiving yards (-152) through 50+ receiving yards (+490) | Ladder at FanDuel Sportsbook

DK Metcalf Receiving Yards Ladder

Metcalf hasn’t been as dominant as many expected in his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s recorded 19 receptions for 356 yards and 4 touchdowns on 32 targets. He’s averaging a healthy 18.7 yards per reception.

The veteran receiver is starting to heat up in recent games, though. He’s recorded 95+ yards in two consecutive games. He also recently posted his best performance against the Minnesota Vikings, turning 5 targets into 5 receptions for 126 yards and 1 touchdown.

Metcalf is a receiver who is getting all types of targets. He only owns a 9.4 aDOT on the season, but Pittsburgh is willing to take deep shots to him. He’s only converted 2 of 6 targets that traveled 20+ air yards on the season, suggesting there’s more upside available.

This is an ideal matchup for him, as the Cincinnati Bengals have struggled against wide receivers. They’re allowing the eighth-most receiving yards (160.6) per game to the position. The Bengals are also giving up 12.6 yards per reception to opposing receivers.

The key here is that Cincinnati struggles to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers has looked outstanding when he has a clean pocket, and Metcalf saw 151 air yards last week.

We’re in a situation where Pittsburgh could take a couple of deep shots to Metcalf because of the time Rodgers will have in the pocket this week. He boasts incredible upside in this matchup.

Where to bet: DK Metcalf 60+ receiving yards (-146) through 100+ receiving yards (+300) | Ladder at FanDuel Sportsbook
