Prop Angles: Target Packers Offense Vs Washington Defense In NFL Week 7

It’s still a surprise to me to see just how poorly Washington has played on defense this season, but it’s time to stop thinking they are going to revert back to their 2020 form. In fact, it’s time to actively target them as one of the better weekly prop angles.

This defense is bad, particularly awful at slowing down the pass.

Well, in slots, the Green Bay Packers with their MVP quarterback and star wide receiver – this is a terrific opportunity to load up on some player props.

Washington’s Defensive Struggles

Washington is coming off a 31-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, allowing Patrick Mahomes to throw for 397 yards.

Letting Mahomes have a big game is not a big deal in a vacuum; he’s one of the best players in the league. What makes this development so troubling as it represents the sixth straight opposing quarterback to hit his passing yards prop this season. In only six games played, yes, that equates to a 100% rate.

Washington ranks dead-last in opposing passing yards per game and is a bottom-ten defense in yards per pass attempt.

They’ve seriously struggled to slow down the aerial attack, and there’s not much reason to expect a sudden shift in quality.

The Green Bay Players To Bet On

This defensive vulnerability from Washington fits right into the Packers’ hands, with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams both set for big games.

Rodgers had a modest start to the year, which should only benefit us more when prop lines open up. The 2020 MVP is averaging 239.3 passing yards per game.

When he throws it, more often than not, it’s Adams on the other end. The wideout has 66 targets this season for 668 yards and two scores.

Adams is going to see the ball plenty; he has 43 more targets than the next closest pass-catcher. Bet on his yards and receptions and trust that the Packers can take advantage of this weak Washington secondary.
