The NBA playoff odds market is open for business Thursday, as the Golden State Warriors failed to sweep the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference finals. However, the Mavericks’ victory in Game 4 likely only delayed the inevitable.
Holding a 3-1 lead, Golden State, the No. 3 seed in the West, is -3500 at DraftKings to win the best-of-7 series against No. 4 Dallas (+1500). The Warriors also are strongly favored to finish the job at home in Game 5.

No. 4 Dallas Mavericks vs No. 3 Golden State Warriors (9 p.m. ET)
UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: The Warriors opened as 7.5-point favorites at WynnBet and are down to -6.5, with 51% of bets and 73% of money on the Mavericks. The moneyline has been steady at Warriors -320/Mavericks +260, with 91% of bets and 79% of money on Dallas.
The total opened at 216.5 and has plunged to 215, with 78% of bets and 94% of money on the Under.
UPDATE 5 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: The Mavericks played with urgency with their season on the line in Game 4, and the Warriors simply didn’t. Dallas built a 29-point lead and fought off a late Golden State rally to earn a 119-109 victory, covering as 1.5-point home favorites. The game went Over the 216-point total.
Luka Doncic had 30 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists for the Mavericks, who outrebounded the Warriors for the first time in the series (45-42). Dallas also won the third quarter for the first time (37-23) after losing it by 10, 12 and nine points, respectively, in the first three games.
The Mavericks have died by the 3 at times in this series, but they lived by it in Game 4, hitting 20 of 43 (46.5 percent) from long range. Golden State was 10-for-28 (35.7 percent).
Stephen Curry had a team-high 20 points in Game 4, as the Warriors’ bench players took over for the bulk of the second half with the game seemingly out of reach. Curry returned late when the Golden State’s reserves trimmed the lead to eight, but the Warriors couldn’t complete the miracle comeback.
Dallas (61-38 SU, 56-42-1 ATS) improved to 4-1 SU and ATS in the playoffs as a favorite and 6-2 SU and ATS at home. But now the Mavericks go back on the road, where they are 3-6 SU and 4-5 ATS in the postseason. That includes losses in Games 1 and 2 of this series.
Golden State (64-33 SU, 49-44-4 ATS) had a four-game SU and ATS win streak halted, falling to 2-5 ATS (3-4 SU) on the road. Conversely, the Warriors are undefeated in eight postseason home games, going 6-2 ATS.
Golden State was 1-3 SU and ATS against Dallas in the regular season. The Warriors were also 1-3 SU in the regular season against Denver and Memphis before dispatching them.
Totals have split 2-2 in this series, including 1-1 on each team’s home court. The Warriors are 9-6 to the Over in the playoffs, and the Mavericks are 10-7 to the Under. The totals also split 2-2 in the teams’ regular-season meetings. In fact, the Over/Under has alternated in nine consecutive meetings dating the final Warriors-Mavericks clash last season.
Injury Report
Warriors forward Otto Porter Jr. missed Game 4 with a sore left foot, and his status for Game 5 is uncertain. Warriors forward Andre Iguodala (neck) and guard Gary Payton II (fractured elbow) continue to be sidelined, with no target for when they will return.
Dallas has no recent injuries.

The Warriors opened as 6-point favorites for Game 5 on DraftKings‘ NBA playoff odds board and rose as high as -7.5 before sliding to -7. Early action favors the home team, as 71% of bets and 62% of money are on Golden State.
The moneyline opened at Warriors -263/Mavericks +210 and went as high as -333/+260 before settling at -310/+245, with 79% of bets and 70% of money on Golden State.
The total opened at 216 and went to 216.5 before coming back down to 215.5. Contrary to that move, 68% of bets and 71% of money are on the Over.
