Cowboys Prediction and Preview
The Dallas Cowboys have a fairly condensed offense at this point. Dak Prescott will lead the way, throwing to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. These two receivers have proven they can both be the WR1, and they’re commanding targets at an elite rate. Jake Ferguson is also finding targets, while Javonte Williams is playing the majority of the running back snaps.
Malik Davis is taking the excess snaps at running back, while KaVontae Turpin and Ryan Flournoy are finding extra receiver snaps. These three aren’t making a big enough impact to be considered in this game, though.
Lions Prediction and Preview
The Detroit Lions aren’t as simple because of injuries. Amon-Ra St. Brown isn’t expected to play tonight, while Sam LaPorta, Kalif Raymond, Brock Wright, and Shane Zylstra have all been ruled out.
Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Jameson Williams are going to be the elite trio for Detroit. Gibbs is as versatile a running back as there is in the NFL, and Williams looked outstanding in the WR1 role last week. This game should feature these three in as many ways as possible.
David Montgomery will continue his role, but he isn’t playing as many snaps as in the past. We’re expecting to see Isaac TeSlaa and Tom Kennedy play more snaps at receiver, and they make sneaky options. Ross Dwelley and Anthony Firkser are expected to split time at tight end.
Cowboys vs Lions Props and Picks Today
There are plenty of Dallas vs Detroit player props to choose from on Underdog for Thursday Night Football. Let’s dive into the Cowboys vs Lions predictions!
Jared Goff Prediction: Higher Than 252.5 Passing Yards
Goff’s enjoying another strong season for the Detroit Lions. He boasts 3,025 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions through 12 games. He’s also averaging slightly over 260 yards per game at home this season.
The Dallas Cowboys have struggled against quarterbacks in 2025. They’re giving up the second-most passing yards (270.3) per game this season. The obvious concern is Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta being injured, but Detroit still has several elite weapons.
Jameson Williams Prediction: Higher Than 83.5 Receiving Yards
Williams has been extremely inconsistent throughout the 2025 season. He’s posted 38 receptions for 706 yards and 6 touchdowns thus far. He’s recorded as few as 0 (twice) and as many as 144 yards (only game without Amon-Ra St. Brown) in a game.
The young receiver gets an elite matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. They’re allowing the fourth-most receiving yards (167.5) per game to opposing receivers. The Cowboys have also struggled against big plays, which is where Williams thrives.
CeeDee Lamb Prediction: Higher Than 82.5 Receiving Yards
Lamb missed some time with an injury this season, but he’s an elite option for the Dallas Cowboys. He’s recorded 51 receptions for 744 yards and 3 touchdowns on 79 targets through 8 games. He’s also coming off one of his best games of the season.
Lamb gets an interesting matchup against the Detroit Lions. They’re allowing 150.4 receiving yards per game to opposing wide receivers this season. More importantly, Lamb is a big-play waiting to happen, and Detroit is a defense that will give up plenty of explosive plays throughout the game.
