Is Stefanos Tsitsipas A Sleeper Pick?

Currently sitting at No. 5 in the latest ATP rankings, Tsitsipas has what it takes to make a serious run through Roland Garros. Last year’s event ended in disappointment for the Greek player, as he lost in the Round of 16 to Holger Rune. However, Tsitsipas has the ability to play with anyone on clay, and his path to the third round is very manageable.

Above, you can see his last three seasons on clay, which sport an impressive record. That includes a run to the final in the 2021 Roland Garros, which he lost to…guess who: Rafael Nadal.

Sleeper No. 2: Daniil Medvedev

Medvedev got a very nice draw in the French Open. He still has some difficult potential matches mixed in the quarterfinal stage and later, but he’ll avoid the top options for the most part. Take a look at his potential draw below:

As you can see, Medvedev wouldn’t face odds-on favorites like Alcaraz or Djokovic until the final. At that point, you could easily hedge your +1000 futures bet on Medvedev to win Roland Garros.

Even though Medvedev isn’t known for his performance on clay, he checks into the 2023 French Open feeling good after defeating Tsitsipas and Rune to claim the title in Rome earlier this month.
