WNBA PICKS TODAY: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13

Tonight’s slate kicks off with two struggling teams – the Chicago Sky visiting the Connecticut Sun in a battle of basement dwellers in the Eastern Conference.

At 7:30 p.m., the Golden State Valkyries face the Washington Mystics. The marquee game comes at 9:30 PM when defending champion New York Liberty takes on the Las Vegas Aces, while Atlanta Dream will visit the struggling Seattle Storm at 10 p.m.

WNBA Picks: A’ja Wilson Lower Than 22.5 Points

While Wilson just delivered an epic 32-point, 20-rebound performance against Connecticut, this line feels inflated given the matchup dynamics. The Liberty have held Wilson to just 33 points across their two meetings this season (both Aces losses) – an average of 16.5 points per game.

A'ja Wilson is one of our best WNBA picks today - August 13, 2025.

Note that the Liberty ranks 7th in opponent points allowed (80.9 PPG). The Aces face pressure as home favorites against a team that’s owned them this season. With the Liberty likely focusing their entire defensive game plan around limiting Wilson’s touches in favorable positions, the under presents strong value.

Tina Charles Lower Than 15.5 Points

Charles paces Connecticut’s offense with season averages of 15.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest. After sitting out Monday’s game for rest purposes during a back-to-back situation, the Sun will desperately need their star center back on the court for Wednesday’s matchup. In the last four games she’s played, Charles has averaged 15 points per game.

While each game has been a loss for the Sun, she’s crossed this number in 3 of those 4. The lone standout was Sunday against the Aces, where she put up just 8 points.

Charles should be rested and see plenty of time, as she has played over 28 minutes in every game this month. Given Charles’ role as the team’s go-to scorer and her season average sitting right at this betting line, the over looks promising.

Kamilla Cardoso Higher Than 12.5 Points

On the other side of Tina Charles is the Chicago Sky and Kamilla Cardoso. The matchup favors Cardoso, as Connecticut surrenders more interior points than any other WNBA team this season.

She is one of Chicago’s top scorers and rebounders, averaging 12.4 points and 8.4 boards nightly for the Sky. She’s been logging consistent minutes this entire season, and played over 26 minutes in 7 of her last 8 games. She should have plenty of opportunity to cross this projection.

Note, though, she’s gone over 12.5 points in only 2 of her last 5 games, and only scored 10 points when she faced Connecticut back in June (her lone matchup against the Sun this season). Facing one of the league’s worst-performing teams should provide an excellent opportunity for a strong scoring production.

Allisha Gray Higher Than 16.5 Points

Allisha Gray has been one of the WNBA’s most consistent scorers this season, entering tonight’s matchup averaging 18.9 points per game, good for sixth in the league.

Facing the Seattle Storm, Gray’s scoring upside is appealing for an “over” play on her 16.5-point prop. Seattle has been in a slump, dropping five straight games, and they’ve struggled recently to contain top perimeter threats.

The Dream has won all five of the last games Gray has played in, and she’s a big reason why. She’s scored 17 or more points in 4 of them, while shooting 50% or better from the field in 4 of her last 5.

She will have plenty of opportunity tonight as well, as she has played over 33 minutes in all but one game since the All-Star break. She played 40 minutes the last time against Seattle, which was a narrow one-point victory for the Dream.

She scored only 12 points in that game, even though she took 13 shots (3 of 13 from the field). Expect a competitive matchup where Atlanta leans on Gray down the stretch. At 16.5 points, the number is slightly below her season average.

Given her consistency, the matchup dynamics, and Atlanta’s current form—winners of five straight—Gray has a strong chance to clear this total. She rounds out my favorite WNBA picks today.
