We were brutally hooked on Clarke Schmidt’s fantasy points yesterday. He threw a masterful in-real-life game, but somehow did not miss enough bats for us. He was one pitching out shy of locking up the W for us.
MLB Pick – Will Warren
We’re going back to the well against the right-handed heavy Angels’ lineup, which is striking out roughly 25% of the time vs. RHP this season.
Warren has been a whiff machine against righties, with a 31% whiff rate and 13% swinging-strike rate. Much like his teammate Schmidt, he is much better against right-handed hitters and yields much less power compared to LHB.
Again, the Angels are projected to send out a ton of them tonight. After yesterday’s extra-inning affair, the Yanks should rely on Warren to give them a few more batters than usual.

MLB Pick – Clarke Schmidt
The Angels have been a boom-or-bust offense this season, but Schmidt should have the stuff to keep them quiet on Monday. It’s a perfect matchup for Schmidt, who has been much better vs. righties compared to lefties:
- vs. RHB: 0.36 HR/9, 6.1% BB%, 2.23 FIP, 33% Whiff%, 16.8% Swinging-Strike Rate
- vs. LHB: 1.50 HR/9, 14.1% BB%, 4.97 FIP, 20.1% Whiff%, 9.1% Swinging-Strike Rate
The Angels are projected to roll out seven righties tonight. The projected lineup can certainly do damage, but they also have a collective 25.8% strikeout rate vs. RHP this season.
