Where’s the top Underdog NBA value for today’s slate?
Terry Rozier Lower Than 8.5 Points (1.04x)
The Heat are trying to adjust to life without Jimmy Butler. Butler was a headache for the team this season, but he was also their clear best player. He propelled the team to heights that most thought incapable – including a trip to the NBA Finals – so it’s going to be tough to survive without him. They had lost four straight games heading into the All-Star break, though they managed to snap that streak with an overtime win over the Raptors on Friday.
Rozier returned to the lineup in that contest after missing the previous two games with a stomach illness. However, he was limited to less than 16 minutes of playing time. That could become a trend moving forward. Rozier has had to carry a sizable scoring workload for the team at times this season, but that doesn’t figure to be the case anymore. Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell were both acquired before the trade deadline, and both players have played extensively since joining Miami.
If Rozier doesn’t play more on Sunday, it’s hard to imagine a huge bump in scoring production. He finished with just five points against the Raptors, and he attempted just four shots.
Toronto was also a very friendly matchup, but Sunday’s showdown with the Bucks should be tougher. They’re 11th in defensive efficiency for the year, so I’m looking to sell Rozier while we still can.

Kevin Durant Higher Than 32.5 Points (2.61x)
Very little has gone right for the Suns this season. They still have one of the best scoring duos in basketball in Durant and Devin Booker, but they’ve been unable to turn that into wins. They’re merely 27-29 for the year, putting them in 11th place in the Western Conference. If they can’t pick up a few more wins over the second half of the year, they could miss the play-in tournament altogether. That would be a disaster situation.
The good news is that they draw a fantastic matchup on Sunday. They’re taking on the Raptors, who rank 26th in defensive efficiency this season. That gives the Suns a bit more scoring upside than usual.
Durant also continues to score the ball at an elite rate. Despite his team’s struggles, Durant is still pouring in 27.2 points per game while shooting 53.6% from the field and 40.9% from 3-point range. Asking him to get to 33 in this matchup doesn’t feel like a huge stretch.
