Slate Overview & Odds – Thursday, January 16

Let’s first quickly run through the fixtures and odds for the upcoming EPL schedule. The first teams listed are at home.

2:30 PM ET: Ipswich vs. Brighton
3:00 PM ET: Man United vs. Southampton

Here are our top match and player picks for the upcoming slate:

Ipswich (+270) vs. Brighton (+100)

Ipswich is right around the relegation zone, so every point is hugely important even at this stage of the season.

Visiting Brighton is currently in 11th place in the EPL, and we’re predicting a hard-fought affair with not much fantasy goodness to go around. Liam Delap and Kaoru Mitoma stand out for their respective clubs.

Prediction: 1-1
Top
Play: Liam Delap HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists

Man United (-310) vs. Southampton (+800)

The Red Devils have been brutal in the Premier League so far this campaign, currently occupying the 15th spot in the table.

That said, they’re firm favorites at Old Trafford against Southampton, who have only mustered six total points in 20 matches. Bruno Fernandes is one of the first names on the team sheet for United and should have another big impact on Thursday.

Prediction: 2-0 Man United
Top
Play: Bruno Fernandes HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists

Slate Overview & Odds – Wednesday, January 15

Let’s first quickly run through the fixtures and odds for the upcoming EPL schedule. The first teams listed are at home.

2:30 PM ET: Newcastle (-235) vs. Wolves (+600)
2:30 PM ET: Everton (+235) vs. Aston Villa (+120)
2:30 PM ET: Leicester (+275) vs. Crystal Palace (-105)
3:00 PM ET: Arsenal (-285) vs. Tottenham (+700)

Top EPL Play

There is another fun four-game EPL slate to dissect on Wednesday.

One of our favorite picks is Jamie Vardy to grab at least one goal at home to Crystal Palace. Though Leicester is an underdog in this spot, we believe the Foxes will have something to say here.

Vardy has been going through a cold stretch up front but is still Leicester’s most gifted goalscorer and often plays the full 90 for the club.

Pick: Jamie Vardy HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals (1.58x)

We need to mention Newcastle, particularly Alexander Isak. He’s now scored in five straight EPL matches and is up to 13 league goals on the year, and the Magpies are expected to topple Wolves at home without much trouble.

The Arsenal-Tottenham match is a little scary, mainly because we never know what version of Tottenham we are going to get. Spurs beat Liverpool and then had trouble with Tamworth in the FA Cup, and they’ve generally been tricky to nail down.

Additional Leans:

Alexander Isak HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals (1.10x)

Kai Havertz HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists (1.07x)

Slate Overview & Odds – Tuesday, January 14

Let’s first quickly run through the fixtures and odds for the upcoming EPL schedule. The first teams listed are at home.

2:30 PM ET: Brentford (+400) vs. Manchester City (-160)
2:30 PM ET: Chelsea (-205) vs. Bournemouth (+500)
2:30 PM ET: West Ham (+195) vs. Fulham (+145)
3:00 PM ET: Nottingham (+425) vs. Liverpool (-160)

Top EPL Play

All of these Premier League matches look like they could be hard-fought affairs.

Of the lot, we do fancy Mohammed Kudus’ goal/assist projection for West Ham’s home clash against Fulham.

Kudus has been one of the few bright spots for a largely disappointing West Ham outfit this campaign. He is a direct attacking player who likes to take defenses on, and we think he will be lively in this one.

Pick: Mohammed Kudus HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals + Assists (1.39x)

Goalscorer Picks:

Cole Palmer vs. Bournemouth — Chelsea is one of the biggest favorites on the board, and Palmer is already up to 13 goals and six assists in 20 EPL appearances this season.

Mohammed Kudus vs. Fulham — The Hammers are down some key attacking contributors, namely Jarrod Bowen, so they’re going to need Kudus to make his presence felt on the pitch.

As far as Manchester City and Liverpool go, both sides are obviously extremely talented and are favored for a reason.

However, Brentford and Nottingham have been pleasant surprises this season, and they’ll have the rowdy home support behind them. With that said, we don’t love targeting the Citizens and Reds on this particular slate as much as we typically do.

Wednesday, December 11 Preview

There are two soccer player picks we are looking at closer for Wednesday’s UCL slate.

Up first is Angel Di Maria, who will lead out Benfica at home. The hosts are sturdy -210 moneyline favorites in the soccer odds versus Serie A outfit Bologna.

In this Premier League and Champions League feature, we post the best soccer props today and where to play them.

Even at 36-years-old, Di Maria has been Benfica’s most dangerous attacking player. He has as much talent and Champions League experience as anyone in the world and is likely to be generating plenty of scoring chances again on Wednesday.

The goal/assist projection is most interesting considering how involved Di Maria is on set pieces and in setting up opportunities for others as well as himself.

We also will be targeting Martin Odegaard to finish with at least one goal or assist at the Emirates.

In this Premier League and Champions League props feature, we run through the best soccer player props and the reasons why.

The Gunners are huge -350 favorites and are likely to score multiple goals against Monaco, who have shown plenty of defensive vulnerabilities this season.

Odegaard is a supremely skilled passer and can unlock defenses out of nowhere, and he’s shown a knack for finding the back of the net himself on occasion too. We like his 1.14x multiplier on at least one G/A for today’s Champions League encounter in London.

Player Picks:

Angel Di Maria HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists (1.19x)

Martin Odegaard HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists (1.14x)

Soccer Props Betting Strategy Tip: Understanding Odds

Just like in other sports, it’s important to understand the macro game environment in soccer. If a team is heavily favored, such as Manchester City against a weak Premier League opponent, that squad is likely to control possession and create a lot more scoring chances.

Understanding team dynamics and who will be in the best opportunities to succeed and fall short of the mark will help you narrow down your favorite soccer props and betting picks.
