Monday, December 16 Preview
Let’s do a quick breakdown of Monday’s sole EPL match between Bournemouth and West Ham.
Match Prediction:
Bournemouth (-140) vs. West Ham (+350)
EPL Pick: 1-1 draw
Both teams are down some key players, and ultimately we think a stalemate could be on the cards between two relatively even-matched squads. The Hammers have more ability than their season results would suggest so far, so we expect a hard-fought match in this tough away fixture.
Player Highlight:
Feel like taking a longer-shot chance on Monday’s EPL slate?
With Marcus Tavernier set for a spell on the sidelines, Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook is likely to be on set piece duty on Monday, and he’s a player with great passing ability and vision in general.
A Cook assist is at a 3.6x multiplier on Underdog soccer at time of writing, and we think that presents some solid value when compared to the talent level and active role in the heart of the midfield.
Pick: Lewis Cook HIGHER Than 0.5 Assists (3.6x on Underdog)
Sunday, December 15 Preview
Let’s do a brief overview of the four-match Sunday slate, highlighted by the Manchester derby between City and United at the Etihad. First up, we’ll do some match picks!
Match Predictions:
Brighton (-115) vs. Crystal Palace (+310)
EPL Pick: 1-1 draw — Two pretty evenly matched sides here and we’re expecting a stalemate in the end
Manchester City (-160) vs. Manchester United (+380)
EPL Pick: Man City 2-0 — Obviously the match of the day; despite City’s rough recent stretch, we think they’ll get up for this one against rivals
Chelsea (-270) vs. Brentford (+650)
EPL Pick: Chelsea 2-1 — The Blues are looking stronger and stronger, but Brentford has a great manager and some players who can cause damage
Southampton (+310) vs. Tottenham (-140)
EPL Pick: 1-1 draw — It’s never a walk in the park when you’re away from home in the EPL; Spurs more talented outfit but still a tricky spot
Player Highlight:
We’re backing Palace’s Eberechi Eze to finish with at least a goal or assist on Sunday, a projection available for targeting on Underdog soccer.
The England international is Crystal Palace’s best player by a good margin and should be able to fashion multiple scoring chances away to Brighton.
A 1.27x multiplier on at least a goal or assist is intriguing in this showdown for a player of Eze’s caliber.
More EPL Player Picks:
In this section, we’ll list out more of our favorite picks for the upcoming slate.
Cole Palmer > 0.5 goals vs. Brentford (1.07x) — In rich scoring form, with four goals and 20 shot-creating actions over last three EPL fixtures (Football Reference); world-class finisher and sole penalty taker
James Maddison > 0.5 goals/assists at Southampton (1.07x) — Maddison didn’t start last weekend vs. Chelsea but came off bench to record assist in only 12 minutes; worth a look if starting given role on set pieces and attacking involvement
Saturday, December 14 Preview
A fun five-game English Premier League slate awaits this weekend, and we’re excited to break down the action from a DFS and betting perspective.
Match Predictions:
Arsenal (-450) vs. Everton (+1200)
EPL Pick: 2-1 Arsenal — The Toffees don’t tend to just lay down for anyone, so it could be a tougher fight than expected for Saka and company, who have had a busy schedule domestically and internationally
Liverpool (-310) vs. Fulham (+750)
EPL Pick: 2-1 Liverpool — Fulham has a talented squad with plenty of tactical discipline and experience, but Liverpool’s looked more dominant than expected under new manager Arne Slot and will have the home fans in support
Newcastle (-330) vs. Leicester (+800)
EPL Pick: 2-0 Newcastle — The Magpies are a formidable foe on their home ground, and we believe Anthony Gordon and company should be able to get all three points against Jamie Vardy’s Foxes
Wolves (-110) vs. Ipswich (+280)
EPL Pick: Wolves 2-1 — Wolves are in desperate need of a result after having dropped three in a row, and this is one of the easier fixtures they have left on their schedule at home
Nottingham Forest (+165) vs. Aston Villa (+170)
EPL Pick: Nottingham 1-0 — Nottingham’s form has been surprisingly excellent, and up against a Villa side that could have tired legs because of European play, an outright victory for Nuno Espírito Santo’s men isn’t out of the question
Player Pick:
In the spotlight is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, with the Reds widely expected to take care of business at Anfield.
As you can see above, Liverpool is a heavy favorite in the soccer odds, and Mohamed Salah is sure to be a popular props pick. We’re looking closer at his teammate for the weekend, despite his recent lack of goal involvement.
The skillful Colombian averaged 5.58 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes in 2023/24 and is at a 5.23 mark so far in his age-27 season, via Football Reference. So far in domestic play this campaign, he’s up to five goals and two assists in only nine starts (14 appearances).
Assuming he’s in the starting 11, we like Diaz to cause havoc in a match Liverpool will likely control. He’s extremely direct and consistently one of the Reds’ most dangerous attacking players, which makes the 1.07x multiplier on at least a goal OR assist interesting.
Top EPL Play: Luis Diaz HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists (1.07x)
Goal Predictions:
In this section, we’ll list out some of our favorite goalscorer picks for the upcoming slate.
Anthony Gordon (1.27x) vs. Leicester
Matheus Cunha (1.39x) vs. Ipswich
Chris Wood (1.39x) vs. Aston Villa

Wednesday, December 11 Preview
There are two soccer player picks we are looking at closer for Wednesday’s UCL slate.
Up first is Angel Di Maria, who will lead out Benfica at home. The hosts are sturdy -210 moneyline favorites in the soccer odds versus Serie A outfit Bologna.
Even at 36-years-old, Di Maria has been Benfica’s most dangerous attacking player. He has as much talent and Champions League experience as anyone in the world and is likely to be generating plenty of scoring chances again on Wednesday.
The goal/assist projection is most interesting considering how involved Di Maria is on set pieces and in setting up opportunities for others as well as himself.
We also will be targeting Martin Odegaard to finish with at least one goal or assist at the Emirates.
The Gunners are huge -350 favorites and are likely to score multiple goals against Monaco, who have shown plenty of defensive vulnerabilities this season.
Odegaard is a supremely skilled passer and can unlock defenses out of nowhere, and he’s shown a knack for finding the back of the net himself on occasion too. We like his 1.14x multiplier on at least one G/A for today’s Champions League encounter in London.
Player Picks:
Angel Di Maria HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists (1.19x)
Martin Odegaard HIGHER Than 0.5 Goals/Assists (1.14x)

Soccer Props Betting Strategy Tip: Understanding Odds
Just like in other sports, it’s important to understand the macro game environment in soccer. If a team is heavily favored, such as Manchester City against a weak Premier League opponent, that squad is likely to control possession and create a lot more scoring chances.
Understanding team dynamics and who will be in the best opportunities to succeed and fall short of the mark will help you narrow down your favorite soccer props and betting picks.
