Monday, August 25th

There’s one EPL match on the schedule today:

Newcastle (+200) vs. Liverpool (+125)

This should be an entertaining battle. The odds are tight, and it’s going to be a tough assignment for the defending champions against the Magpies at St. James Park.

One interesting wrinkle: Liverpool has been trying to sign Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, who is eager to join. However, the Magpies are not willing to let their star striker go, and Isak has not been playing during this messy situation.

Here were the leaders in shotcreating actions for Newcastle in the opener (a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa), via Football Reference:

Bruno Guimaraes (4)
Kieran Trippier (4)
Harvey Barnes (4)
Valentino Livramento (3)
Sandro Tonali (3)
Joelinton (3)

And for Liverpool in the season opener, a 4-2 win over Bournemouth:

Florian Wirtz (8)
Dominik Szoboszlai (5)
Hugo Ekitike (4)
Cody Gakpo (3)
Mohamed Salah (3)
Alexis MacAllister (3)

Here is who we are looking at closely on a player level for today:

Anthony Gordon was held in check last weekend against Villa, but he’s generally been one of Newcastle’s most threatening players in recent seasons. He had 11 goal contributions in 2024/25 and 21 the year before that.

We believe the Magpies will more than hold their own in this meeting with Liverpool at home, particularly since the Reds have shown some defensive vulnerability early on this campaign.

For the visitors, it’s Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz who stick out most from an attacking point of view.

This is not the best of team matchups in general, though, as Newcastle is normally a well-drilled side. The Magpies also have one of the most highly-regarded managers in the league in Eddie Howe.

Good luck!

Sunday, August 24th

The Premier League action starts early on Sunday morning.

Crystal Palace (+140) vs. Nott Forest (+205)
Everton (+205) vs. Brighton (+140)
Fulham (+235) vs. Man United (+115)

Here is who we are looking at closely on a player level for today’s matches:

Ismaila Sarr

Losing Eberechi Eze is a massive blow to Crystal Palace, who will be at home to Nottingham Forest this weekend. The Eagles are currently small favorites on the soccer odds board.

Ismaila Sarr is a direct player with a lot of skill and confidence, and he’ll now have to shoulder even more responsibility to produce with Eze gone. The Senegalese attacker had 14 goal contributions (eight goals, six assists) last EPL season.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

We’ll be interested to see who starts for Everton. Jack Grealish ended up coming off the bench last week, so there’s a chance he could crack the starting 11 for this one. He’d be interesting for DFS and betting purposes if that’s the case.

Elsewhere, Dewsbury-Hall is expected to play an integral central role for the club after being signed over the summer.

Alex Iwobi

Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha would be the preferred targets on the United side. Both are highly-active offensive forces who consistently create opportunities for themselves and others.

Underdog EPL Projection
Pictured: Alex Iwobi’s Underdog Projections

As for Fulham, Iwobi has become a key part of the attack, and we like his goal/assist projection on sites like Underdog for Sunday’s slate. We don’t expect the Cottagers to make life easy for the Red Devils here.

Good luck!

Saturday, August 23rd

It’s a busy day of Premier League action on Saturday.

Man City (-195) vs. Tottenham (+475)
Bournemouth (-125) vs. Wolves (+330)
Brentford (+210) vs. Aston Villa (+125)
Burnley (+140) vs. Sunderland (+225)
Arsenal (-295) vs. Leeds (+800)

Here is who we are looking at closely on a player level for today’s matches:

Antoine Semenyo

Though Bournemouth fell short to Liverpool in the opener, Semenyo had an outstanding individual effort with two goals, and he’s worth considering again this weekend.

He finished ninth in shot-creating actions across the entire EPL last year and has become a constant headache for opposing defenses.

The Cherries are favorites at home to Wolves, and we like Semenyo’s chances of notching at least one goal or assist once more.

Jaidon Anthony

Looking for more of an under-the-radar play? Maybe Burnley’s Jaidon Anthony fits the bill, assuming he cracks the starting 11.

Anthony is a skillful attacking player who enjoys taking defenders on, and he could cause issues for Sunderland’s backline..

This is one of the most favorable team spots Burnley will see this season at home.

Bukayo Saka

The Gunners picked up a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Man United and now will have their home opener against newly-promoted Leeds.

Pictured: Saka’s Underdog EPL Projections

Bukayo Saka figures to be a prominent piece of Arsenal’s attack once more this season, health permitting. He led the Premier League in shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (6.09) in 2024/25, via Football Reference.

The attacker’s goal/assist projection is at a 0.81x multiplier for Saturday’s matchup against Leeds in London. The Gunners should dominate possession and fashion a number of chances on goal throughout this encounter.

Good luck!

Friday, August 22nd

We have one EPL match on the cards for Friday:

West Ham (+370) vs. Chelsea (-135)

Chelsea drew 0-0 against Crystal Palace in the season opener. Below were the leaders in shotcreating actions in that match, via Football Reference:

Pedro Neto (6)
Cole Palmer (5)
Reece James (4)
Jamie Gittens (3)
Joao Pedro (3)
Enzo Fernandez (2)

The Hammers were beaten 3-0 by newly-promoted Sunderland in their first game of 2025/26. Will they be able to bounce back at home?

Shot-creating actions for West Ham in the opener:

Jarrod Bowen (6)
Max Kilman (3)
El Hadji Diouf (2)
Lucas Paqueta (2)
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (2)
James Ward-Prowse (2)

It’s tough to get excited about anyone on the Hammers ahead of this meeting with a more talented Chelsea outfit that should be able to control possession.

If you do venture that way, Bowen would be the clear standout. He is the heart of West Ham’s attack and is also involved in set pieces/penalty duties.

Cole Palmer EPL
Pictured: Palmer’s Underdog EPL Projections

Palmer and Neto are the main playmaking targets who generate the most scoring opportunities for Chelsea, while Joao Pedro would be my top choice for a goal.

The Brazilian forward has shown some great promise leading the Blues’ attack since moving over from Brighton during the summer. His goal projection is at a 1.13x multiplier on Underdog as of now.

Good luck!

Monday, August 18th

We have one EPL match on the cards for Monday:

Leeds (+130) vs. Everton (+230)

It’s newly-promoted Leeds at home against Everton, and the hosts are the favorites on the soccer odds board.

Here is who we are looking at closely on a player level for today:

Joel Piroe & Daniel James

Piroe was stellar for Leeds last year, putting up a team-best 26 goal contributions in 46 Championship matches. He had 19 goals and seven assists to lead the way.

Joel Piroe
Pictured: Piroe’s Underdog Projections

We shouldn’t forget about James either, as he’s been instrumental since joining up with Leeds.

A pacey, hard-working winger, James creates a lot of problems for opposing defenses. In 2024/25, he had 12 goals and nine assists in 36 appearances.

Update: Jack Grealish and Dwight McNeil are not starting on Monday. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall stands out in his debut for Everton.

In case you missed the news, Grealish has signed with Everton on loan, and he figures to be a central part of the squad if he stays healthy.

There should be a lot more creative freedom and responsibility for Grealish with the Toffees as opposed to Man City.

We’re eager to see if the attacking midfielder cracks the starting 11 for this one, but David Moyes may opt to bring him off the bench until he’s fully match fit.

McNeil paced Everton with 10 goal contributions despite only playing in 21 EPL matches last season. He’d be another top target on the Toffees side for this Premier League showdown at Elland Road.

Good luck!

Soccer Props & Betting Strategy Tip: Understanding Odds

Just like in other sports, it’s important to understand the macro game environment in soccer. If a team is heavily favored, such as Manchester City against a weak Premier League opponent, that squad is likely to control possession and create a lot more scoring chances.

Understanding team dynamics and who will be in the best opportunities to succeed and fall short of the mark will help you narrow down your favorite soccer props and betting picks.
