Wednesday, January 7th
Who’s ready for a huge Wednesday EPL slate? It should be a glorious day in the Premier League.
Here’s the schedule:
Bournemouth vs. Tottenham
Brentford vs. Sunderland
Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa
Everton vs. Wolves
Fulham vs. Chelsea
Man City vs. Brighton
Burnley vs. Man United
Newcastle vs. Leeds
Biggest moneyline favorites (approximate):
Man City (-210)
Newcastle (-150)
Man United (-145)
Everton (-120)
Brentford (-120)
It’s been a pretty wild couple of weeks, as we’ve seen Man United and Chelsea’s coaches get the boot. Both teams will be away from home in what could be tricky encounters later today. Make sure to track the status of Bruno Fernandes, who could return to action for the Red Devils. His upside is huge for DFS.
Also of note: Antoine Semenyo has agreed to a deal to join Man City, though he is not expected to join the team just yet. At time of writing, he’s still expected to start for Bournemouth at home to Tottenham.
Where should we be looking with our soccer picks on Wednesday?
Top Targets
A quick overview of our top player picks for the upcoming slate
Erling Haaland & Rayan Cherki – Haaland is the obvious pick for a goal for the Citizens, even in a tougher-than-usual matchup against Brighton. His goalscoring prowess has been lethal this term. As for Cherki, he’s quickly become a foundational attacking piece since claiming his spot in the starting 11.
Jack Grealish – Grealish is back in the fold, and we like his chances of at least one goal or assist in this spot. Everton is a favorite at home to Wolves, a position the Toffees don’t often find themselves in. On loan from Man City, Grealish has been a standout for Everton when healthy.
Brennan Johnson – Looking for more of an under-the-radar play? Johnson was recently picked up by Palace, and it appears as if he’ll have a featured role with the club due to mounting injuries. The Eagles are a short underdog in the odds at home to Villa.
Post-Lineups Update
We recommend waiting until starting 11s are released before finalizing picks. Check back to this space later for updated plays and analysis.
UPDATE: Cherki is not starting. Everyone else mentioned is.
Good luck!
Tuesday, January 6th
We only have one match on the EPL schedule for Tuesday. Let’s try to pick out a winner!
Here’s the schedule:
West Ham vs. Nottingham Forest
A visiting Nott Forest side is the small favorite in the Premier League odds at around +130 to win on the moneyline. West Ham is at approximately +225 on home turf.
Top Targets
A quick overview of our top player picks for the upcoming slate
Jarrod Bowen > 0.5 Goals + Assists
Nottingham Forest is not an easy opponent, but this is still one of the friendlier fixtures West Ham will face at home. Bowen has an undeniably large role in the Hammers’ attack and almost always plays the entire 90 minutes as the club captain.
On the other side, Callum Hudson-Odoi is questionable. Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Omari Hutchinson look likely to start and would be the preferred targets.
Don’t forget about Neco Williams, one of the most attacking-minded defenders in the EPL. He brings sneaky upside for DFS and betting.
Good luck!

- Vinicius Junior (6.77)
- Phil Foden (6.29)
- Kenan Yildiz (6.10)
- Francisco Conceicao (5.95)

- Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (5.92)
- Arda Guler (5.67)
- Jens Petter Hauge (5.61)
- Jeremy Doku (5.59)

- Dodi Lukebakio (4.92)
- Achraf Hakimi (4.87)
Top Targets
A quick overview of our top player picks for the upcoming slate
Nicolas Pepe > 0.5 Goals + Assists – Pepe sticks out in the two-game early slate. Villarreal will be at home to Copenhagen and is a firm favorite in the odds.
Pepe is a direct and dangerous player who is averaging 5.22 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes in La Liga play so far this season. That’s easily the most within the Villarreal squad and the 10th-most in the league.
Juventus Attack – We’ll be eagerly awaiting Juventus’ starting lineup for this favorable matchup. Dusan Vlahovic is injured. Jonathan David and Kenan Yildiz would be our preferred targets, if they make the team.
Serhou Guirassy – This is a great team situation for Dortmund at home to a less talented side, and Guirassy has been highly effective leading the line for the club in recent seasons. He should be able to score at least one goal, and if you want to take a bigger chance, consider backing him to net two or more.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia & Bradley Barcola – PSG is without Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi, among others, yet is still favored away to Ath Bilbao. We have interest in both Kvaratskhelia and Barcola, even in what should be a hostile environment, as they’re both been creating a lot of chances going forward.
Post-Lineups Update
We recommend waiting until starting 11s are released before finalizing picks. Check back to this space later for updated plays and analysis.
Serhou Guirassy is not starting. Other than that, no updates.
Good luck!

A quick overview of our top player picks for the upcoming slate
Harry Kane & Michael Olise – Young starlet Lennart Karl also stands out and is likely to go more under-the-radar (if he picks up the start), but it’s hard to ignore the output Kane and Olise have been producing for Bayern.
Kane has 17 goals and three assists in 20 Bundesliga matches and Olise has recorded six goals and eight assists in 13 appearances. Kane is already up to five goals in five UCL games, with Olise at three goal contributions (one goal, two assists).
Raphinha & Lamine Yamal – Another dynamic duo. Along with Robert Lewandowski, we can feel great about liberally targeting Barcelona playmakers Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. Though the competition isn’t a walkover, the Catalan outfit is the biggest favorite on this slate at home versus Eintracht Frankfurt.
Raphinha (four goals, three assists in seven La Liga matches) recently returned from injury and continues to cause havoc offensively. Ditto for Yamal, who’s notched six goals and seven assists in 12 La Liga matches and two goals and one assist in four UCL games. The dominant Spaniard is averaging 6.49 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes in Europe so far this term (Football Reference).
Richarlison – Assuming he gets the start up front, Richarlison is interesting in a home spot against Slavia Prague. He found the back of the net in the EPL over the weekend and showed great chemistry with Xavi Simons, who had his best performance in a Spurs kit.
Simons is also intriguing, as he seems to be getting more and more comfortable in his new surroundings. There’s a good chance he’ll miss out on the starting 11, though, so that’s something we’ll have to monitor.
Post-Lineups Update
We recommend waiting until starting 11s are released before finalizing picks. Check back to this space later for updated plays and analysis.
No updates today. All mentioned players are in the starting 11.
Good luck!

Soccer Props & Betting Strategy Tip: Understanding Odds
Just like in other sports, it’s important to understand the macro game environment in soccer. If a team is heavily favored, such as Manchester City against a weak Premier League opponent, that squad is likely to control possession and create a lot more scoring chances.
Understanding team dynamics and who will be in the best opportunities to succeed and fall short of the mark will help you narrow down your favorite soccer props and betting picks.
