Shohei Ohtani Props Today – MLB Stats, Picks & Strategy (2025)

You can find Ohtani player props and pick’em plays on pretty much any platform or sportsbook across the industry. We’ll focus on Underdog Pick’em projections in this article.

The superstar has finally returned to the mound after a lengthy hiatus, and we’ll see if he pitches every fifth day. Until then, he’ll still be the most feared left-handed batter in baseball every day.

If you faded this article over the weekend, you’ve done well!

Shohei Ohtani Underdog Projections June 29 2025

Ohtani will battle against southpaw Kris Bubic and a good Kansas City bullpen on Sunday. Bubic is legit, ranking 83rd percentile in xERA and 92nd in chase rate.

Let’s get off the schneid!

Pick: Lower Than 9.5 Fantasy Points

Saturday, June 28 Preview: Shohei Ohtani Props and Picks

Welp, Ohtani homered again on Friday, and he’ll square off against the Royals on Saturday. He’ll take the mound, and he’s expected to also hit.

June 28, 2025 - Shohei Ohtani Underdog Projections

Underdog is a little light on Ohtani props today. I would normally be hesitant to target batting props on a day where he’s also scheduled to pitch, especially against the Royals.

Kansas City has a really good bullpen, but they used a handful of their high-leverage arms on Friday (Zerpa, Erceg, Cruz, and Clarke). Starting pitcher Seth Lugo is a respectable pitcher, but he’s striking out just 18% of LHB this season.

I like Ohtani to cover this number on Saturday.

Ohtani Prop Pick: Higher Than 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

Friday, June 27 Preview: Shohei Ohtani Props and Picks

Ohtani homered on Thursday and beat the 11.5 Fantasy Points projection for us! Let’s take a look at what Friday has on tap.

Friday, June 27, 2025 - Shohei Ohtani's Underdog Projections - Pick'em Plays and Props

The Dodgers will head to Kansas City, and Ohtani’s Fantasy Points projection is down two points following a big day at the plate.

I rarely do this, but I’m going to take Under 9.5 Fantasy Points. The Coors Field hangover might be real, and opposing pitcher Noah Cameron doesn’t really strike anyone out, but also does not give up many fly balls (45% ground-ball rate) or barrels (less than 5% barrel rate) to lefties.

Kansas City’s bullpen has also been very good. It’s a tough draw for anyone, including the best player in the world.

Ohtani Prop Pick: Lower Than 9.5 Fantasy Points

Why Ohtani Didn’t Pitch For Years (2023-2025)

Ohtani underwent elbow surgery in September 2023 after a ligament issue. The star slugger then signed with the Dodgers and spent the 2024 campaign as the team’s designated hitter.

Many were skeptical if Ohtani would pitch in 2025 – or ever again. He continues to prove doubters wrong.

Career MLB Pitching Statistics

From 2018-2023 at the MLB level, Ohtani pitched in 86 games, recording a record of 38-19.

Ohtani owned a minuscule 3.01 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across 418.2 innings pitched while racking up a whopping 608 strikeouts. Historic 2024 Season

Ohtani became the first player ever to record a season with 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases. He slashed .310/.390/.646 with 54 HR, 130 RBI, 59 SB, which are video-game numbers.

Ohtani earned his second-straight unanimous Most Valuable Player award, which marked his third overall MVP.
