Wanna Parlay Review: How this DFS Sweepstakes Hybrid Stacks Up

Wanna Parlay is a social daily fantasy sports app that debuted in 2024. The mobile-only platform offers free-to-play games across the U.S. You compete against other players to climb the leaderboard for chances at real-money prizes.

It’s a mash-up of DFS and sweepstakes-style play with a built-in community aspect. Entries are based on multi-leg wagers across a range of sports and markets. For a unique twist, each selection you add is assigned a point value based on its difficulty level.

Paid contests are also available in 22 states. In this complete Wanna Parlay review, we cover everything you need to know, from signing up straight through to cashing out prizes. We also provide an in-depth look at gameplay, mobile app performance, and much more.

Wanna Parlay at a glance

Wanna Parlay brings a unique spin to the table with its free-to-play contests. It combines the entertainment of daily fantasy sports with the challenges of building out parlay wagers. Players who succeed in doing so climb the leaderboard and take home cash prizes.

When you enter contests on the mobile-only platform, you have to reach a set point allocation. You get points based on how difficult your selections are to predict. The higher the difficulty level, the more potential points your entry can rack up.

Gameplay is smooth on mobile devices, but those who like playing on larger screens may be disappointed that there’s no desktop version. If you win cash prizes, redemption can occur within 1-5 business days via methods such as PayPal and bank transfer.

Wanna Parlay offers a free “Parlay of the Day” contest every day. Paid contests with varying prize amounts are also available in 22 states. Featured contests in this section include The Main Event, Hotshot Hero, and Pick 7.

Wanna Patlay made its debut in 2024. The social daily fantasy sports platform was founded by Jim Bob Morris and Carson Coffman, two former football players. In 2019, the duo launched Wanna, a peer-to-peer gaming app that’s available in Brazil.

Building on that success, Wanna Parlay blends the excitement of parlay betting with the social and competitive nature of DFS. The platform has managed to gain traction, thanks in part to its user-friendly app, contest features, and its community aspect.

Wanna Parlay’s free-to-play games are available in all 50 states. Users craft parlays by selecting multiple picks across sports, leagues, and bet types. They then enter them into contests and compete for top spots on leaderboards.

Prizes are awarded based on the difficulty and accuracy of the parlay. The free daily “Parlay of the Day” contest has proven to be a huge draw. You build out two or more picks while meeting the assigned difficulty points, with the top 10 finishers winning prizes.

Where are Wanna Parlay paid contests available?

Wanna Parlay also offers paid contests in 22 states. There’s a variety of entry fees and prize pools to choose from across their signature games: Main Event, Pick 2-7, Hotshot Hero, and Hockey Hero. Entry fees range from $2 to $50, with some top prizes exceeding $1,000.

Unique features of Wanna Parlay

Wanna Patlay has several unique features that help it stand out in the crowded field. Highlights include the social aspect implemented across the platform, a unique custom parlay format, and a points system that rewards players for increasing the difficulty level.

On the social front, in-game chat and real-time tracking of picks and the leaderboard help inspire even more engagement. You can share strategies and discuss picks with other players, tout your selections, and call out those that you find less than desirable.

Unlike traditional fantasy sports games, you’ll find more flexibility at Wanna Parlay. You’re creating custom parlays with varying selections across a range of sports, including moneylines, props, and totals.

The point system also gives you more control over your potential score. While you can keep it safe if you choose, increasing the difficulty level enhances the potential. This approach provides players with a little more incentive to think outside the box.

Current bonuses and promotions at Wanna Parlay

There’s a handful of current bonuses and promotions available at Wanna Parlay. In states where paid games are available, there’s a $250 sign‑up bonus. Users across the U.S. can take advantage of the daily free contests and referral program.

  • Deposit Match Bonus up to $250: New players receive a 100% match on their first deposit up to $250. You must be located in one of the 22 states where paid games are available, and deposit at least $10 to qualify.
  • Daily Free Contests and Free Entries: Users can participate in daily free contests without incurring any costs. Free entries are automatically credited to accounts upon joining, allowing players to enter contests and compete for prizes immediately.
  • Referral Program: Get $20 in bonus funds for each referral who signs up with your link and plays $25 in contests. No limit on the number of referrals, and your bonus is eligible for withdrawal once you receive it.

For the referral program, there are two important points to note. First, your referrals won’t be able to claim the Wanna Parlay welcome offer. Next, since the offer is tied to paid contests, it’ll only apply to referrals who are located in one of the states eligible for paid games.

During our review, no other special promotions were available. However, Wanna Parlay will occasionally offer promotions, such as for a major upcoming event. Whenever you get set to play, check out the menu to see if there’s anything new available.

Wanna Parlay app ratings and reviews

The Wanna Parlay app checks in with a solid 4.4 rating on 279 reviews at the App Store. Positive reviews praised its ease of use and unique contests, while also pointing to it as an entertaining option for sports bettors.

Interestingly, there were no comments listed from those who rated it with three or fewer stars. The Android app is accessible directly from the website, so there are no ratings on Google Play as of yet.

The sentiment from reviewers aligns with our findings. Wanna Parlay performs great on mobile.

One nitpick is that logging out of the app is not directly accessible in your account section. Instead, you have to click on settings to find that option.

Mobile App Performance Rating: 10/10

Prize redemption and banking options

To redeem prizes won from free-to-play games, you’re account will have to be fully verified. The process is known as Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and requires proof of identity and address.

When signing up for an account, users are asked to provide their full name and address. Any supporting documentation you provide during KYC must match this information.

Once that’s completed, you can withdraw your prize winnings via bank transfer, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Prizes are credited to your account once contests are finalized and verification has been completed.

Processing tends to be quick for most methods. A bank transfer can take 1-3 business days, while others should process in 24 hours or less. Some users have reported very quick or near-instant redemptions via PayPal and Venmo.

For those in states with paid games, the same banking methods are available for deposits and withdrawals. The minimum deposit is $10, with transactions processed instantly. The maximum withdrawal per transaction is $2,000.

Prize Redemption and Banking Rating: 10/10

Is Wanna Parlay safe to play?

Wanna Parlay is a safe and secure platform that adheres to standard industry protocols. The platform uses SSL encryption to secure all data transmissions between users and the platform.

During the account set-up process, there are strong password requirements, and users can change their passwords at any time. Customers are required to go through KYC verification for redemption and withdrawal.

The company clearly outlines all its policies on the website and app, adhering to compliance standards in all states where it operates. This includes geolocation to confirm user location and age verification.

Wanna Parlay segregates player funds from its operating accounts and sends out 1099 forms to winning players where applicable.

Safety and Security Rating: 10/10

Does Wanna Parlay have a responsible gambling policy?

Yes, Wanna Parlay provides responsible gambling information for players. There’s a dedicated link to its policies on the website. When playing on the mobile app, players can access the same information via the “rules” or “terms and conditions” links.

As you review the policy, you’ll find links and information to helpful resources, such as the National Council on Problem Gambling and its helpline. There’s also detailed information on setting limits or self-exclusion for those who need to do so.

Customer support options

Customer support options at Wanna Parlay are limited. If you visit the website, there’s a standard support contact form where you can enter your information and question. Alternatively, you can email directly to [email protected].

On the app, you can locate the support link in your account information section. Once you click the link, you can type in your question. You won’t receive an automatic response, but you will receive an acknowledgment and see a note that they will “try to get back to you within 24 hours.”

There’s currently no live chat or phone support. On the brighter side, there’s a “How to Play” section that includes video walkthroughs of all key areas, such as how contests and leaderboards work.

On Reddit, there is a Wanna Parlay thread in the r/sportsbetting section, but it has only attracted 10 comments to date. The company maintains a presence on the social media platform X, but there has been no account activity in some time.

Custom Support Rating: 5/10

Is the social feature active at Wanna Parlay?

Wanna Parlay emphasizes the social feature as a key component of the user experience. Players can track their performance in real-time, with each contest having its own built-in chat.

As the company sees it, this will foster more engagement as users discuss picks and strategy, share insights, and provide their takes on performance.

During our test, we didn’t see much activity, but it was during a slower time for an average sports day.

The “buzz” feed was quiet with just some standard notifications. Clicking on the in–game chat brought up some canned response suggestions, such as “60% of the time it works every time.”

Perhaps the social feed heats up when contests are in full swing.

How does Wanna Parlay stack up to the competition?

Wanna Pralay is a newer player on the scene that manages to stack up well when compared to other sites and apps. The mobile-only play may limit appeal for those who also like playing on desktop. However, app-focused players will love the smoothness of the experience.

As a hybrid of DFS and social parlay betting, Wanna Parlay is rather unique. On the fantasy side, it trails seasoned competitors like Underdog in terms of contest variety, as well as bonus and promotional offerings.

On the free-to-play and social sportsbook side, sites such as Fliff and Rebet provide more options. For now, Wanna Parlay players are limited to a daily free-to-play game, with more options available to those in eligible paid states.

When focusing solely on mobile app performance, Wanna Parlay stacks up incredibly well. The limited selection of games knocks it down some pegs.

As a relatively new platform, there’s plenty of room for growth. Based on what we’ve seen from Wanna Parlay so far, the future could indeed be bright.

Wanna Parlay strategy tips

For Wanna Parlay strategy, there is merit to standard best practices that are recommended for playing daily fantasy sports or placing sports wagers. However, the uniqueness of the parlay-centric format and the difficulty of regular success with multi-leg wagers make it that much more challenging.

The following strategy tips can help you get that much closer to building out Wanna Parlay entries with confidence.

  • Know the rules: Each contest has unique requirements, such as the number of legs and eligible selections. As you decide which ones to play, focus on those that align the closest with your comfort level.
  • Do your homework: While you can certainly wing it, taking the time to do a little research can work wonders. For example, a heavy favorite could be ripe for the picking due to a matchup that tends to give them trouble.
  • Go beyond name value: As you research player picks, it’s natural to be attracted to those who have name value. However, digging deeper into the menu may reveal some more favorable over/under plays on those who fly under the radar.
  • Look for correlation: For parlays, try to find correlated plays, as in things that could easily happen if the other comes to fruition. For example, if you like a QB to throw for over a set amount of yards, his top target could also have a nice day.
  • Balance risk: To have a shot at the leaderboard, you’ll have to take on a certain amount of risk. That said, going overboard with unlikely happenings is not the way to do it. Beyond long-shots, look for mildly risky scenarios that aren’t that far outside the box.

Whether it’s a free-to-play contest or an entry where actual funds are at stake, there are simply no guarantees when it comes to DFS or wagering of any kind. Be sure to keep that in mind whenever you’re about to play.

Who should choose Wanna Parlay?

Wanna Parlay can be a good choice for players of all experience levels. The user-friendly platform and how-to-play section make it easy for newer players to get up to speed.

Meanwhile, the parlay-centric approach makes it challenging and entertaining enough for even the most seasoned DFS players and sports bettors.

The free-to-play games are available across the U.S., making it an excellent choice for casual fans who just want to make some picks. In eligible paid states, there are low-cost opportunities to take your chances at some solid prizes.

If you’re looking for a traditional DFS or sports wagering experience, Wanna Parlay won’t be a good fit. For those who want to try out something new on a smooth mobile app, it’s definitely worth your time.

Wanna Parlay review final verdict

Wanna Parlay is a newer entry to the scene that shows a lot of promise. The innovative mash-up of DFS and parlays makes for an entertaining and challenging experience.

The app is user-friendly, allowing users to hit the ground running after the simple registration process. Daily free-to-play contests across the U.S. make it accessible to all, while those in one of the eligible paid states have even more options to explore.

The social integration is appealing, but the lack of depth for free-to-play contests limits the appeal. If there were more daily free contests to choose from, it could be that much more vibrant.

There’s good coverage of major sports, as well as markets that simulate a sportsbook experience. It’s worth checking out and keeping on the radar, as its debut offerings suggest there’s plenty of potential if the contest selection and user base continue to grow.

Final verdict: 8.5/10
