Odds via The SuperBook and updated as of 5:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 13
Rams at Cardinals
Opening line: Cardinals -3, Over/Under 52.5
UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: Less than three hours before kickoff, Arizona is again a 3-point favorite at WynnBet, the same as the Dec. 5 opening line. The Cardinals initially dipped from -3 to -2 Tuesday, then spent all weekend at -2.5 before returning to -3 this afternoon. Ticket count is 5/1 and money just beyond 2/1 on the Cardinals.
“We are going to be Rams fans in the room,” WynnBet senior trading manager Alan Berg said. “With Arizona as one of the states that we are active in, it’s no surprise to us behind the counter.”
Senior trader Motoi Pearson said the game has a Pros vs. Joes vibe.
“We’ve had plenty of Cardinals action on multiple numbers, including -2, -2.5 and -3,” Pearson said. “We saw some respected plays on the Rams +2.5 prior to the COVID news [earlier today]. But the handle and parlay liability is still very high on the Cardinals.”
The total fell from 52 to 50.5, then crept up to 51 this afternoon. Ticket count is 2/1 on the Over, but money is running almost dead even.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: WynnBet pegged Arizona a 3-point favorite last Sunday, dipped straight to -2 Tuesday, then went to -2.5 Friday night. Ticket count is 4/1 and money just shy of 3/1 on the Cardinals.
“The Cardinals are a popular bet again, which doesn’t surprise us behind the counter,” WynnBet senior trader Motoi Pearson said. “This is especially true for a favorite under 3 points. We’ve taken some respected action at -3.”
The total spent much of the week at 52, then dipped to 51 Friday morning, with tickets about 2/1 on the Over, but money 3/1 on the Under.
“Surprisingly, there has not been much action on the Over,” Pearson said.
UPDATE 5 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Arizona opened -3 (-105) Sunday night at DraftKings, dipped to -2.5 Monday and returned to -3 Tuesday morning. Later Tuesday, though, the line fell to -2 and is now Cardinals -1.5. Arizona is netting 55% of spread bets and 56% of spread cash. The total opened at 52 and is down to 51, with 64% of bets/53% of cash on the Over.
UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins returned in Week 13 after missing the Cardinals’ previous three games with injuries, and Arizona had little trouble in Chicago. The Cardinals won 33-22 giving 7.5 points to remain atop the NFL at 10-2 SU. And Arizona’s 9-3 ATS mark is tied for second with Dallas, behind Green Bay’s 10-2 spread-covering mark.
Los Angeles (8-4 SU, 5-7 ATS) came out of its bye week and got what amounted to a second bye in Week 13, lapping Jacksonville 37-7 as a 14-point favorite. The Rams will be looking to avenge a 37-20 Week 4 home loss to Arizona as a 4-point chalk.
“Two straight great games on Monday Night Football? Hard to believe,” Murray said. “We had this game Cardinals -2.5 [on the look-ahead line] and saw sharp players lay that number. Both teams had good showings today against weak opposition, and we decided to re-open Arizona -3 based on those sharp plays [last] week.”
The total didn’t move tonight.
Bills at Buccaneers
Opening line: Buccaneers -3.5, Over/Under 53.5
UPDATE 1 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Caesars Sportsbook moved Tampa Bay from -3.5 to -3 Monday, went back to -3.5 Tuesday and hasn’t moved since. The Buccaneers are attracting 69% of point-spread bets, but just 54% of point-spread money. The total bounced around a bit, from 53.5 to 52.5 to 54.5, and it’s now back to its low of 52.5. However, ticket count is 3/1 and money beyond 6/1 on the Over.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Tampa Bay opened as a 3.5-point favorite at WynnBet, spent most of the week at -3, then went to -3.5 (even) Friday night. Point-spread ticket count is 2/1 and money 4/1 on the Buccaneers.
“We’re sitting at -3.5 Bucs, and there has been no shortage of Tampa Bay money,” WynnBet senior trader Motoi Pearson said. “It seems like the public would lay the number even if it were as high as -10. It appears that some people are losing trust in the Bills in major games.”
After opening at 52.5, the total reached 54 Friday night, with 60% of tickets 80% of cash on the Over.
“The Over has been a popular play, as well,” Pearson said.
UPDATE 5 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: DraftKings pegged Tampa Bay a 3.5-point chalk to open, dipped to -3 a couple of times and is now -3.5 (even). However, it’s all Bucs on the spread so far, with ticket count and money beyond 5/1. The total opened at 53 and spent time at 52.5 and 52, but is now up to 53.5. That said, it’s two-way play, with 55% of bets/57% of cash on the Over.
UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Tampa Bay didn’t exactly run away from Atlanta in Week 13, but did just enough for a win and cover. The Buccaneers (9-3 SU, 6-6 ATS) notched a 30-17 road victory, needing a final-minutes field goal and defensive stand to cover the 11.5 points. Tampa is on a 3-0 SU ATS upswing after back-to-back losses to New Orleans and Washington.
Buffalo still has Week 13 work to do, and difficult work at that. The Bills (8-4 SU and ATS) host the red-hot New England Patriots on Monday night.
The opening line for Bills-Bucs matched the look-ahead line from last week.
“We re-opened the Bucs -3.5, despite taking some bets on the Bills at that number [last week]. We saw no reason to lower it for now, as we think it is the right number,” Murray said. “This is a possible Super Bowl preview and will be a monster-handle game for us. We have the total at 53.5 and expect the Over to be a very popular public play.”
For the moment, though, neither the line nor total have moved on the NFL Week 14 odds board.
Ravens at Browns
Opening line: Ravens -1.5, Over/Under 43
UPDATE 12:45 P.M. ET SUNDAY: PointsBet USA bounced between Cleveland -2.5 and -3 all week long and is currently at -3. The Ravens are drawing 63% of spread bets, while ticket count is almost dead even, with a slight edge to the Browns. The total move from 42.5 to 44 to 43.5 on two-way play: 52% of bets/53% of money on the Over.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Cleveland opened -1 at WynnBet, got to -2.5 early in the week, then advanced to -3 (even) on Friday afternoon. The Browns remain -3 (even) on interesting splits: The Ravens are getting 62% of spread cash, while Cleveland is taking 87% of spread dollars. Cleveland is currently WynnBet’s No. 1 liability in the NFL Week 14 odds market. The total dipped from 43 to 42.5, climbed to 43.5, then Thursday stabilized at 43 again. Ticket count is dead even, and 56% of money is on the Over.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Cleveland opened -1.5 at DraftKings and at a couple of points reached -2.5, where the number sits now. However, counter to the move, Baltimore is taking 57% of bets and 61% of cash on the spread. The total shifted from 42.5 to 43 to 42, with 62% of early bets/78% of early money on the Under.
UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Lamar Jackson and Baltimore just have not looked impressive at all of late. It’s been a month since the Ravens scored more than 19 points in a game, and they were lucky to go 2-2 SU and ATS in that stretch. In Week 13, Baltimore (8-4 SU, 5-7 ATS) lost at Pittsburgh 20-19 as a 4-point chalk, failing on a final-seconds 2-point conversion that would’ve produced a win.
Cleveland (6-6 SU, 5-7 ATS) was on bye in Week 13 and probably needed the break. The Browns are 3-5 SU/2-6 ATS in their last eight games. Baker Mayfield and Co. face Baltimore for the second straight game, having lost 16-10 as 3-point road pups in Week 12.
“We opened the Ravens -1.5 but are now down to pick, after seeing the Ravens lose to Pittsburgh and some sharp money come in on Cleveland,” Murray said. “This should be an evenly bet game that doesn’t shape up as a big decision for the house.”
Later this evening, the line went to Browns -1, while the total held firm at 43.
Cowboys at Washington
Opening line: Cowboys -4.5, Over/Under 49
UPDATE 12:45 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Dallas is up 2 points just today at PointsBet USA, jumping from -4.5 to -6.5, after opening the week at -4. However, this game is almost dead-even two-way action: 52% of bets on the Cowboys, 52% of money on Washington. The total opened at 48.5, bottomed out a 47.5, peaked at 49 and is now 48. Ticket count is almost 2/1 and money 3/1 on the Under.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: After opening -5 at WynnBet, Dallas spent pretty much all week at -4. Ticket count and money are both just short of 2/1 on the Cowboys. The total opened at 49 and has stuck at 48 since Tuesday, with 64% of money and a hefty 92% of cash on the Under.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Dallas opened as a 5-point chalk at DraftKings and made a couple of trips down to -3.5. The Cowboys are now -4.5 while attracting 69% of spread tickets/59% of spread dollars. The total initially rose from 49 to 50, but is now at 47.5, with 58% of tickets/81% of money on the Under.
UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Dallas gets back into the Sunday rotation after back-to-back Thursday games. After a shocking upset home loss to the Raiders in overtime on Thanksgiving Day, the Cowboys (8-4 SU, 9-3 ATS) returned to their spread-covering ways with a 27-17 win laying 6.5 points at New Orleans.
Washington (6-6 SU, 5-7 ATS) went to Las Vegas as a 1-point ‘dog and grinded out a 17-15 win on a last-minute field goal. The Football Team — will someone hurry the hell up and name this franchise? — is on a 4-0 SU and ATS surge.
“We opened this game Washington +4.5, and the line moved up to 5,” Murray said. “It’s hard to believe Washington is on a four-game winning streak. We will still need them big. Dallas is coming off a good win, and the public loves this kind of road favorite.”
The total was unchanged tonight.
Raiders at Chiefs
Opening line: Chiefs -8.5, Over/Under 51
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Kansas City has been pinned to -9.5 all week at WynnBet, where the spread ticket count is dead even and 65% of spread cash is on the Chiefs. The total opened at 49, moved to 48.5 Wednesday and hasn’t budged since then. Ticket count is almost a 50/50 split, but 87% of money is on the Under.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: DraftKings opened Kansas City as a 10-point fave, went to -9.5 early Monday, -9 Tuesday afternoon, then moved to -9.5 this afternoon. It’s two-way action, with the Chiefs landing 56% of tickets and money on the spread. The total opened at 52.5 and has already plunged to 47.5. The Over is getting 54% of tickets, but 87% of money is on the Under.
UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Don’t look know, but two-time defending AFC champion Kansas City is on a 5-0 SU run. On Sunday night, the Chiefs (8-4 SU, 5-7 ATS) dumped Denver 22-9 giving 8.5 points to cash for the third straight game.
The Raiders-Chiefs line went up about an hour before the Broncos-Chiefs tilt. So, per The SuperBook’s policy, Raiders-Chiefs came off the NFL Week 14 odds board during the Denver-K.C. game and will go back up Monday morning.
“There wasn’t much discussion on this one, beyond that we feel the Raiders and Broncos are basically the same team, and the Broncos were getting 8.5 in Kansas City tonight,” Murray said. “A lot of money-line parlays and teasers that include the Chiefs are in our future.”
There was no movement on the line or total tonight.
49ers at Bengals
Opening line: Bengals -1.5, Over/Under 47.5
UPDATE 1 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Caesars books opened the Bengals -1.5, dipped to pick and then to 49ers -1 by Wednesday afternoon, and it’s now Niners -2.5. San Francisco is taking a nominal majority 52% of spread bets, but 76% of spread dollars are on the 49ers. The total is up to 49 from a 47.5 opener, with ticket count 2/1 and money 5/1 on the Over.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: This line opened pick ’em at WynnBet, moved to San Francisco -1.5 on Wednesday and hasn’t budged since. The Bengals are netting 56% of spread tickets, while the 49ers are seeing 71% of spread money. The total is up to 49 from a 47 opener, with 59% of tickets/61% of money on the Over.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Cincinnati opened -1 at DraftKings, where today the line jumped the fence to San Francisco -1, then moved on to 49ers -1.5. The 49ers are taking 55% of early bets and 66% of early money on the spread. The total is out to 49 from a 47.5 opener, with 64% of bets/61% of money on the Over.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Cincinnati just doesn’t know how to handle success. The Bengals routed the Ravens a few weeks back and followed with a loss to the lowly Jets. Then in Week 13, Cincy pounded Pittsburgh, then returned home to face a struggling Chargers team and of course faltered.
Cincinnati dug itself into a 24-0 second-quarter hole, then rebounded to pull within 24-22 in the third quarter. But the Bengals (7-5 SU, 6-6 ATS) didn’t score again, losing 41-22 as a 3-point chalk.
San Francisco won three in a row and four of five SU and ATS prior to a Week 13 trip to Seattle. But the 49ers (6-6 SU, 5-7 ATS) couldn’t put away the pesky (and slumping) Seahawks, losing 30-23 as 3-point favorites.
“We opened Bengals -1.5 and are still there,” Murray said. “Both of these teams are in the mix for wild-card spots in their respective conferences, and both suffered really bad losses on Sunday. Trey Lance must be struggling terribly behind the scenes for the 49ers to still be playing Jimmy Garoppolo. Gotta keep a close eye on Joe Burrow’s status for this one all week.”
Burrow dislocated his right pinky early in the loss to the Chargers, but played through it.
Bears at Packers
Opening line: Packers -13, Over/Under 45
UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: This number bounced around plenty at PointsBet USA. The Packers opened -12.5, went to -11.5 a couple of times, peaked at -13 midweek and are now at their low of -11. That said, Green Bay is seeing 69% of spread tickets and 70% of spread money. The total opened at 44, peaked at 44.5 and is currently at its low of 42.5, though tickets and money are beyond 2/1 on the Over.
On the prop bet of player to score the first touchdown, Packers wideout Davante Adams is the 4/1 favorite and is taking the most tickets. Packers running back Aaron Jones (5/1) is drawing the second-most tickets, followed by Bears running back David Montgomery (9/1).
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Green Bay opened -13 at WynnBet, moved to -12.5 Tuesday, then straight to -11.5 this afternoon. The Packers are drawing 77% of bets, but the underdog Bears are landing 58% of money. The total steadily crept down from 45 to 43, with tickets split 50/50 and 91% of money on the Under. When combining action on the spread, total, and moneyline, the Sunday night game is seeing the most action of all NFL Week 14 matchups.
UPDATE 5 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: The Week 14 Sunday night game is nothing to write home about, but with the Packers involved, there will be plenty of public betting interest. Green Bay dipped from -12.5 to -11.5 Monday morning at DraftKings, then returned to +12.5 this afternoon. And it’s all Packers on the spread, at 82% of tickets/92% of money. The total dropped from 44.5 to 43, with 55% of tickets/53% of money on the Over.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Green Bay is coming off a bye week that it hopes will help Aaron Rodgers heel up from a toe injury. The Packers are 9-3 SU, tied for the second-best mark in the league, and their 10-2 ATS record is No. 1 in the NFL.
Playing without rookie QB Justin Fields for the second straight week, Chicago (4-8 SU and ATS) couldn’t keep pace with Arizona in a 33-22 setback catching 7.5 points at home.
“We opened Packers -13 after seeing another poor performance from the Bears today, and knowing that so many parlays will be going to that game, given the time slot,” Murray said of the Week 14 Sunday nighter.
The line was stable tonight at The SuperBook, while the total dipped to 44, then rose to 44.5.
Giants at Chargers
Opening line: Chargers -10.5 Over/Under 45.5
UPDATE 1 P.M. ET SUNDAY: The Chargers are down to -9 today at Caesars Sportsbook, after opening -10.5, going to -10 midweek and -9.5 Saturday. Los Angeles is netting 55% of spread tickets, but 86% of spread dollars are on underdog New York. The total fell from 46 to 43.5 by Wednesday and remains 43.5, with tickets 2/1 and money 3/1 on the Under.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: WynnBet posted Los Angeles as a 10.5-point chalk Sunday, spent most of the week at -10, then went to -9 Friday evening. The Chargers are taking 72% of bets, but 78% of money is on the Giants. In fact, the Giants are WynnBet’s third-largest liability in the NFL Week 14 odds market. The total opened at 45.5 and has been at 43 since Wednesday, with 52% of bets/95% of cash on the Under.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Los Angeles went up as a 10.5-point chalk at DraftKings and made a couple visits to 10, then returned to the -10.5 opener this afternoon. Ticket count is almost 4/1 and money beyond 6/1 on the Chargers. The total is down to 44 from a 45.5 opener, with 55% of tickets on the Over/77% of money on the Under.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Los Angeles put a 2-4 SU/1-5 ATS skid to bed with big runs early and late at Cincinnati. The Chargers (7-5 SU, 6-6 ATS) sprinted to a 24-0 second-quarter lead, then gave almost all of it back as the score tightened to 24-22 midway through the third quarter. But L.A. scored the final 17 points in a 41-22 victory catching 3 points.
New York (4-8 SU, 6-6 ATS) traveled to Miami in Week 13 without the services of injured starting QB Daniel Jones and the offense couldn’t find the end zone in a 20-9 loss as a 6.5-point underdog.
The SuperBook stood pat on the line and total tonight.
Seahawks at Texans
Opening line: Seahawks -7.5, Over/Under 43.5
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Seattle opened -7.5 at WynnBet, then moved to -8 and onto -8.5 within a few minutes late Thursday morning. Ticket count is 5/1 and money beyond 9/1 on the Seahawks. The total was on the decline throughout the week, opening at 43.5 and sitting at 41 since Thursday morning. Ticket count is dead even, and money is 3/1-plus on the Under.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: DraftKings opened Seattle as an 8-point favorite and made multiple visits to 7, before settling at -7.5 Tuesday afternoon. That said, the Seahawks are taking 85% of spread bets and 89% of spread money thus far. The total dropped from 43.5 to 41 by this morning, with 56% of bets/72% of cash on the Under.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Seattle’s season is essentially over, but that didn’t stop Pete Carroll and Co. from stinging a potential playoff team in Week 13. The Seahawks (4-8 SU, 6-6 ATS), getting 3 points at home, notched a late TD to top San Francisco 30-23.
Houston (2-10 SU, 5-7 ATS) provided more of the usual in Week 13. The Texans got shut out by Indianapolis 31-0 as 10-point home ‘dogs.
The SuperBook didn’t move the line or total tonight.
Lions at Broncos
Opening line: Broncos -7.5, Over/Under 43.5
UPDATE 1 P.M. ET SUNDAY: This number shot up the past couple of days, due to Detroit dealing with COVID issues and other illness, along with key injuries. Denver opened -8.5 and initially dipped to -8, but by late this morning was up to -12.5. Ticket count is just short of 2/1 Lions, but money is nearly 9/1 Broncos. The total is down to 42 from a 43.5 opener, with tickets 2/1 and money 3/1 on the Under.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Detroit is apparently dealing with the ‘rona, as multiple players are in COVID protocol. Plus, Lions running back D’Andre Swift (shoulder) is out. Thanks to all that, Denver went from a -8 opener and 7.5 low point up to -11 by this morning. Ticket count is still 2/1 Lions, but money is beyond 3/1 Broncos. Denver is WynnBet’s second-largest liability on the NFL Week 14 odds board. The total moved from 41.5 to 42.5 Friday, then to 42 today, with 54% of bets on the Under/79% of dollars on the Over.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Denver went up as a 7-point fave at DraftKings, spent a couple days at -8, then went to -7.5 this afternoon. Updated betting splits aren’t available at the moment, so check back later. The total initially fell from 43.5 to 41.5, but has been stable at 42 since Monday night. The Under is drawing 68% of bets/90% of dollars.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Detroit is riding high on a one-game winning streak — with that one game being its lone victory of the season. The Lions (1-10-1 SU, 8-4 ATS) scored on an 11-yard TD pass as time expired to beat Minnesota 29-27 in Week 13 as 7-point home pups.
Denver (6-6 SU and ATS) lost to Kansas City 22-9 as an 8.5-point Sunday night road ‘dog.
Per The SuperBook’s policy, Lions-Broncos came off the NFL Week 14 odds board once Broncos-Chiefs kicked off. Detriot-Denver will go back up Monday morning.
Saints at Jets
Opening line: Saints -6.5, Over/Under 44
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: WynnBet pegged the Saints -6 at the outset and spent most of the week at -6, where the line sits tonight. New York is landing 53% of spread tickets, while spread money is dead even. The total is down a tick from 43.5 to 43, with ticket count almost 2/1 and money beyond 9/1 on the Under.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: New Orleans dropped from -6 to -4.5 by Tuesday morning at DraftKings, then stabilized at -5 Tuesday afternoon. The Saints are taking 77% of spread bets, but just 56% of spread money. The total is down to 42.5 from a 44 opener, with 60% of bets on the Under/64% of money on the Over.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: New York gave Philadelphia a fight for about 21 minutes, holding an 18-14 lead. Over the final 39 minutes, the Jets (3-9 SU and ATS) didn’t score, ultimately falling 33-18 as a 5-point home pup.
New Orleans (5-7 SU and ATS) at least comes into this one with the benefit of a mini-bye. In the Week 13 Thursday night game, the Saints lost to Dallas 27-17 getting 6.5 points at home.
The line and total didn’t change tonight.
Jaguars at Titans
Opening line: Titans -11, Over/Under 45
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: The Titans dropped from -10 to -8.5 by Thursday at WynnBet, then Friday inched up to -9, where the line remains tonight. Tennessee is netting 63% of spread bets, but 79% of spread cash is on underdog Jacksonville. The total has been nailed to 44 this week, with 66% of bets/60% of cash on the Under.
UPDATE 5 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: DraftKings dropped Tennessee from -10.5 to -9.5 a couple of times on Monday, and the line is now down to Tennessee -8.5. Ticket count is 2/1 on the Titans, but the Jaguars are taking 55% of money on the spread. The total bounced between 44 and 44.5 a few times, but it’s now down to 43.5. The Under is seeing 68% of tickets/59% of money.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Tennessee (8-4 SU, 7-5) ATS got a much-needed Week 13 bye after taking a Week 12 spanking. The Titans were 7.5-point underdogs at New England and got belted 36-13.
For Jacksonville (2-10 SU, 4-8 ATS), Week 13 was more of the same. The visiting Jags got drummed by the Rams 37-7 catching 14 points.
The line nudged down to -10.5 tonight, and the total dropped 1.5 points to 43.5.
Falcons at Panthers
Opening line: Panthers -3, Over/Under 43.5
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Carolina spent half the first half of the week at -3 and the second half of the week at -2.5, where WynnBet stands tonight. The Panthers are getting a slim majority 53% of bets, while the Falcons are attracting 73% of money. The total dipped from 43 to 41.5, with tickets dead even, but 88% of cash on the Under.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Carolina toggled between -3 and -2.5 a couple times at DraftKings and is currently at the latter number. Atlanta is drawing 61% of spread bets, and that’s translating into 91% of spread money. The total dipped from 43.5 to 42 by this afternoon, with 56% of bets/88% of money on the Under.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: It’s an NFC South battle of 5-7 SU and ATS outfits. In Week 13, Atlanta fell to Tampa Bay 30-17 as an 11-point ‘dog, while Carolina had a bye.
Neither the line nor the total moved tonight at The SuperBook.
Steelers at Vikings
Opening line: Vikings -4, Over/Under 45
UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Less than three hours before kickoff, PointsBet USA has Minnesota a 3.5-point favorite. That matches the opening line, although the Vikings made a couple trips to -3, most recently very early today. Ticket count is almost 2/1 and money is approaching 5/1 on the Vikings. The total dipped from 44.5 to 43 by Tuesday, then spiked to 45 this afternoon, and it’s currently 44.5. The Over is taking 59% of tickets/74% of money.
On the prop bet of player to score the first touchdown, Steelers running back Najee Harris is the +500 co-first choice and is No. 1 in tickets. Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson and running back Dalvin Cook are also +500, with Jefferson taking the second-most tickets and Cook third in tickets.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: The first game of the week doesn’t exactly make you want to rush to the betting window. But being in prime time, Steelers-Vikings will certainly end up with noteworthy action. DraftKings opened Minnesota -3.5 and has spent most of the week at -3, currently priced at -115. The Vikings are drawing 54% of spread bets and 60% of spread dollars. The total dropped from 45 to 43 and is now 43.5, with the Under netting 52% of bets/57% of dollars.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: In Week 13, Minnesota did what no other team has done this season: lose to Detroit. Leading 27-23, the Vikings (5-7 SU, 6-6 ATS) allowed an 11-yard TD pass on the game’s final play and lost 29-27 as 7-point faves.
Even Pittsburgh managed a 16-16 tie with Detroit, back in Week 10. The Steelers (6-5-1 SU, 5-7 ATS) climbed above .500 with a 20-19 Week 13 win over Baltimore as 4-point home ‘dogs. Pittsburgh escaped when the Ravens failed on a game-deciding 2-point conversion in the waning seconds.
“We opened Vikings -4 and are currently at -3, after the Steelers rallied to beat the Ravens,” Murray said. “It’s hard to figure out Pittsburgh, but one thing for sure is the Steelers are a very, very different team with [sack specialist] T.J. Watt in the lineup. This feels like a game that will come down to the end. Well, of course it will. The Vikings are playing.”
While the spread dropped a point, the total didn’t move tonight.
