Celtics vs Nuggets Props & Prediction Today – Wednesday, Jan. 7
The Nuggets (24-12) are stumbling into Boston on their seventh straight road game, sitting at a brutal 2-4 on this trip, and now they’re doing it without the best player on the planet.
Despite “stumbling,” Denver pulled out a heroic win against the 76ers in its last contest without a host of players, including Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and Christian Braun, who were upgraded to probable earlier this afternoon.
Nikola Jokić remains out with a left knee bone bruise, while the Celtics (23-12) are riding a four-game win streak at home and looking to feast on a shorthanded opponent.

Denver Nuggets Betting Preview
Denver came into the season as Western Conference favorites, but injuries have derailed their momentum. They’re currently on a brutal seven-game road trip that started on December 28th, and it’s been a disaster: 2-4 record, including losses to Miami (123-147), Cleveland (108-113), and Brooklyn (115-127).
The lone bright spot? A gutsy 125-124 overtime win in Philadelphia on January 5th, where Murray and Gordon carried the load without Jokić.
Key Stats:
- Offensive Rating: 118.5 (3rd in NBA)
- Defensive Rating: 114.2 (18th in NBA)
- Home Record: 14-5
- Road Record: 10-7
- Last 10 Games: 4-6
Without Jokić, this offense craters. Denver is averaging just 102.3 points per game in the four games since Jokić went down (0-4 record). They’re struggling to generate consistent offense, and their defense—already shaky—has been exposed.
Boston Celtics Betting Preview
Boston has been resilient without Tatum. Jaylen Brown has ascended to superstar status, and the depth has stepped up. Derrick White (18.4 PPG, 5.3 APG), Payton Pritchard (17.0 PPG off the bench), and Neemias Queta (10.0 PPG, 6.9 RPG) have all been crucial.
The Celtics are 4-0 in their last four games, including wins over the Clippers (146-115), Kings (120-106), Jazz (129-119), and Bulls (115-101). They’re playing fast, shooting the three at a high clip, and defending like a top-5 unit.
Key Stats:
- Offensive Rating: 120.1 (1st in NBA)
- Defensive Rating: 109.8 (6th in NBA)
- Home Record: 13-5
- Road Record: 10-7
- Last 10 Games: 7-3
Celtics vs Nuggets Top Picks & Player Prop Bets – Wednesday, Jan. 7
Here are two NBA player prop bets for Nuggets-Celtics that I’m eyeballing tonight.
NBA Prop Bet – Derrick White > 18.5 Points
Yes, a blowout is concerning, but it’s hard to predict the ebbs and flows of any NBA game nowadays. We’ve written about White quite a bit at our top NBA player props page at this exact number, and he seems to miss it only when he’s very inefficient or there’s a blowout. Volume is rarely an issue on this version of the Celtics, and the Nuggets have been pretty bad defensively.
NBA Prop Bet – Jamal Murray > 25.5 Points
Without Jokic, Valanciunas, and Johnson on the floor, Murray averages 26.7 points per 36 minutes. He’s been playing much better since the calendar turned to December compared to the beginning of the season.
I’m not against a same game parlay with these two legs because the game will likely need to stay close for Murray to hit. Consider a smaller unit size for a 2-leg SGP at nice odds.
Good luck, and enjoy the game!
