Chestnut has simply dominated this event. He owned the title from 2016-2023 while setting the record of 76 hot dogs eaten in 2021. Chestnut has eaten no fewer than 62 hot dogs in any July 4 contest since 2016, while eating more than 70 hot dogs from 2016-2021.

Hot Dog Betting Props – Joey Chestnut Higher/Lower Than 69.75
As of the last week of June, Underdog has set Chestnut’s line at 69.75 – for now. We’ll see how the market moves when money starts to come in at higher or lower than 59.75 hot dogs eaten.
UPDATE – Chestnut’s Hot Dogs Eaten prop has moved 71.25 on Underdog as of July 3rd. It looks like strong money hit the over on the original, early number of 69.75 hot dogs eaten.

For the women’s competition, Miki Sudo sits at 44.5 (-120 juiced Over), which puts her on par with Underdog’s projection.
Where To Watch the 2025 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest: Time and Channel
Both the men’s and women’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contests will be televised on a few ESPN networks on July 4th. The women’s competition begins at 10:45 a.m. ET on ESPN 3, while the men’s competition will follow at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN 2. The competitions will be re-aired later in the afternoon.

Chestnut owns a laundry list of accolades, records, and victories. The 41-year-old Indiana native has won the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 16 times, but he’s checked plenty of other competitive eating boxes.
