My notes:
— MOUZ/FaZe should be competitive, but we haven’t been too impressed by FaZe at this event. FaZe has more upside but is more inconsistent, whereas Mousesports is a steady team that rarely makes mistakes. We like Spinx on the MOUZ side and Twistzz/frozen for FaZe.
— The skill level of Falcons is extremely high, and it starts with the team’s dominant AWPer, m0NESY. NiKo and kyousuke are the riflers who are also worth considering, while we don’t have much interest in 3DMAX here.
— Astralis, Aurora and G2 have all shown nice performances at this event yet run into juggernauts on Tuesday. Vitality, Spirit and FURIA are three of the top powerhouses in CS2 right now, and we expect them to move on.

My notes:
— The margins are getting slimmer as we narrow it down to the final teams at IEM Krakow. Vitality picked up a 2-0 series win and now faces a tough 3DMAX team. In the end, it’s hard to bank against ZywOo, ropz and company considering the dominant run they’ve been on.
— MOUZ/Aurora was tough to call. That one could go either way. I’ve been impressed with Aurora’s play and they’re coming off a nice win over Falcons, but Mousesports is a formidable opponent that matches up well.
— It’s going to be tough for NRG to survive against a more skilled Falcons team, but they’ve defied the odds at this tournament. We expect a 2-0 for m0NESY and NiKo’s squad.

My notes:
— Falcons make their event debut against an Aurora team that fought its way through the first stage. The skill is on Falcons’ side, but Aurora is experienced and has shown some fight at this tournament. m0NESY is one of the top AWPers in the world and is my favorite target in this game.
— Not going to lie: I’m surprised to see NRG make it to this stage, but kudos. Will the American team keep it going against Mousesports? We would be surprised.
— donk completely dominated Astralis, setting Spirit up with a showdown against a familiar foe in Na’Vi. This matchup could go either way and should be an entertaining battle. donk typically gets his no matter what — just know this is one of the tougher matchups he will face.

My notes:
— The MongolZ will make their debut with a new fifth, and it’s a tricky opening matchup against G2, who showed some nice performances in the opening stages. On an individual level, MATYS has looked very sharp at this event so far.
— The Na’Vi/PARIVISION game should be a banger. PARIVISION has quickly become one of the most feared teams out there, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they kept the momentum going. We’ll go with the experience of Na’Vi in this spot, however.
— We get to see some elite talent join the party on Saturday, including FURIA’s molodoy and Spirit’s donk. We expect relatively straightforward wins for both teams, though FUT could make life difficult if FURIA doesn’t come in prepared from the start.
— So hard to get a read on BC.Game, as we’ve already seen some extreme highs and troubling lows at this event. They just surprised NIP with a 2-0 series win, but the level of competition is next level against the world’s best team in Vitality. It’d be quite shocking if BC.Game secures even one map win here.

Counter-Strike FAQ – CS2 DFS Pick’Em

What is Counter-Strike?
CS2 is a popular video game in which two teams play 5v5.
The first team to win 13 rounds wins that particular “map”, and there are best-of-one, best-of-three, and best-of-three series depending on the tournament.
To win a round, a team must eliminate all of the opposing players or complete a team objective.
For the CT (Counter-Terrorist) side, the team goal is to defuse the bomb if planted by the Terrorist (T) side. For the T side, the objective is to eliminate all five opposing CTs OR plant the bomb and protect it long enough for it to explode.
For DFS and betting purposes, you can either participate in DFS contests where you build a full lineup of CS2 players, or you can try to predict individual player performance.
Just like in traditional sports, there are star players who accumulate more fantasy points in general, and recent player/team form and matchups can play a huge role in deciphering the best plays on a day-to-day basis.
