The Bulls stormed out to a perfect 2-0 start after being given preseason win totals of just 31.5-32.5 games. That’s disrespectful, and they’re proving doubters wrong early.
They beat Detroit 115-111 (after blowing a 23-point lead, naturally) and dominated Orlando 110-98 on the road Saturday night.
Nikola Vucevic has been an absolute monster in the paint—21.5 PPG and 14.5 RPG through two games.
His 28-point, 14-rebound performance against Detroit set the tone, and he followed with 15 points against Orlando while anchoring the defense. Without Porzingis protecting the rim for Atlanta, Vucevic should feast on post-ups and pick-and-pops.
Matas Buzelis is the real revelation here—18 PPG average including a clutch alley-oop dunk that sealed the Detroit game. The rookie’s playing with zero fear, and paired with Vucevic’s veteran savvy, Chicago’s frontcourt is legit.
Giddey’s status is the critical question. If he plays, the Bulls have a legitimate floor general who can facilitate (9.5 APG), rebound (9.5 RPG), and score (20 PPG).
