There are a plethora of reasons to use Sleeper Fantasy’s “Picks” product, but two stand above the rest.

First, Sleeper Picks has variable payouts. Sleeper’s payout changes based on the plays you pair together. The operator doesn’t have the same static numbers as some other sites, which allows you to create plays based on your risk tolerance.

Second, Sleeper has alternate player projections. This creates an option more similar to a sportsbook, which allows you to make picks on different “milestones” for players rather than one specific number. For example, you can predict someone to score 20+, 25+, 30+, etc. points.

The variable projections allow you to get different payouts for these milestones. Sleeper Picks gives you the option to create specific plays you want, rather than a somewhat limited number of projections being available.

The combination of variable payouts and alt picks lets the user create a wide range of plays as desired.

Sleeper Fantasy Picks Today – Thursday, June 26

Now that you have more information about Sleeper Picks, it’s time to see if we can find some value in the lobby.

Every day, you’ll find a new set of our top plays across multiple sports.

Today's Sleeper Picks Entry features Griffin Canning and Grant Holmes.

Griffin Canning Less Than 4.5 Strikeouts

Canning’s an interesting arm because he’s been successful, but his numbers don’t truly suggest that’s going to continue for the entire season. He’s been on a steady decline in strikeout rate since the beginning of the season. He’s also recorded 5+ strikeouts in only one of his last six starts.

The right-hander gets a terrible matchup against the Atlanta Braves tonight. They rank 21st in the MLB in strikeout rate (19.5%) over the last 14 days. They also led the league in walk rate (11.7%) over that span.

The Braves only have two projected starters with a 25% or worse strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. They also have one projected starter that meets that metric over the last 14 days. In turn, they have four projected starters with a 10% or better walk rate against righties in 2025.

Canning should struggle with efficiency in this game, limiting his opportunities to find strikeouts.

Grant Holmes More Than 5.5 Strikeouts

Admittedly, I’m not a Holmes guy, but he can generate a ton of whiffs. He boasts 9+ strikeouts in four games this season, including a 15-strikeout performance against the Colorado Rockies.

The biggest concern is that he’s drastically better at home and against right-handed batters, but he did just post 9 strikeouts on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The young starter gets an interesting matchup against the New York Mets tonight. They’ve been struggling, ranking ninth in the league in strikeout rate (23.8%) over the last 14 days. The Mets also rank 23rd in team wOBA (.301) over that span.

Five of the last eight right-handed starters have posted 6+ strikeouts against New York. Didier Fuentes and Mick Abel are two who missed that threshold, but they were both dominated. Spencer Schwellenbach was the third, but it was an outstanding start for him, and it was the second time he saw them over a week’s span.

Holmes certainly feels a bit like a boom-or-bust option here.
