Lakers vs Kings Prediction Today – Sunday, October 26
Sunday night brings us a Pacific Division showdown that’s absolutely loaded with storylines—the Los Angeles Lakers (1-1) visit the Sacramento Kings (1-1) at Golden 1 Center.
Luka Dončić has scored 92 points through two games—a Lakers franchise record to start a season, surpassing Jerry West’s 81 points to open the 1969-70 campaign.
The man just dropped a career-high 49 points against Minnesota after opening with 43 against Golden State, becoming just the fourth player in NBA history to open a season with consecutive 40-point, 10-rebound, 5-assist games. He’s joining Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Anthony Davis in that exclusive club.
Meanwhile, Zach LaVine is cooking for Sacramento, with back-to-back 30-point performances, and Domantas Sabonis just hit a game-winning putback with 6 seconds left to beat Utah on Friday night.
Sacramento’s bench—led by Malik Monk’s 20 points and 6 threes—provides firepower the Lakers can’t match with their injury-depleted rotation.

Lakers Props and Prediction Today
The Lakers are a one-man wrecking crew right now, and that man is absolutely unconscious.
Luka Dončić is putting up video game numbers—46.0 PPG, 11.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists through two games. His 49-point masterpiece against Minnesota included 23 points in the first quarter (tying Kobe Bryant and Kyle Kuzma for the Lakers’ record since 1996) and 32 points by halftime.
He went 14-of-23 from the field, 5-of-9 from three, and 16-of-19 from the free-throw line. He celebrated with a hip shimmy after draining a three over Jaden McDaniels, and the crowd went bananas.
Austin Reaves has emerged as the clear No. 2 option, averaging 25.5 PPG with elite playmaking.
Against Minnesota, he posted 25 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds—a legitimate double-double while running the offense. When Dončić needs a breather, Reaves keeps the offense humming. That’s exactly what you need from your second-best player.
Rui Hachimura dropped 23 points on efficient shooting against the Timberwolves, showing he can be a legitimate third scoring option.
The reality is: if Dončić goes for 40+ again, the Lakers probably win. But asking for a third consecutive 40-point game is a lot. At some point, positive regression hits, and Sacramento’s got the pieces to exploit LA’s weaknesses.
Kings Props Prediction Today
Zach LaVine dropped 30 in his debut loss to Phoenix, then followed with 31 points against Utah—including 15 points in a seven-minute span in the first quarter.
He scored 7 crucial points in the final 5 minutes to help Sacramento erase a 96-92 deficit. LaVine’s integration has been seamless, and he looks completely comfortable in Mike Brown’s system.
Domantas Sabonis returned from his hamstring strain and immediately delivered clutch heroics. His game-winning putback with 6 seconds left against Utah showcased exactly why he’s Sacramento’s emotional and physical anchor.
He finished with a modest 12 points and 12 rebounds, but that putback—after missing his initial mid-range attempt—was pure winner’s mentality. The fact that he missed the free throw and Utah still couldn’t capitalize tells you everything about Sacramento’s grit.
The bench depth is where Sacramento has a massive advantage. Malik Monk went for 20 points off the bench with 6 three-pointers against Utah.
When he gets hot from deep, he’s virtually unguardable. Dennis Schroder provides 17 points and solid floor general play. The Lakers’ bench simply can’t match this firepower with their injury situation.
Sacramento’s at home, has better depth, and can push the pace to their advantage. If they control tempo and get Monk/LaVine hot from three, they can outscore the Lakers.
Lakers vs Kings Injury Report
Lakers’ Injury Situation: OUT: LeBron James (sciatica/back—targeting mid-November return), Maxi Kleber (oblique strain—out until at least Nov. 5), Jaxson Hayes (knee—expected out until at least Oct. 26), Adou Thiero (knee—expected out until at least Oct. 31).
Kings’ Injury Situation: OUT: Keegan Murray (torn UCL in left thumb—4-6 weeks, will miss at least 10 games). AVAILABLE: Domantas Sabonis (returned Friday after hamstring strain).
Murray’s absence hurts Sacramento’s spacing and perimeter defense, but they’ve got the depth to absorb it. The bigger question is whether Sabonis’ hamstring holds up on the back-to-back.
Lakers vs Kings Prediction: Props and Picks Today
There are plenty of Lakers vs Kings props to choose from on Underdog for Sunday. Let’s dive into the Lakers vs Kings predictions!
Luka Doncic Props Today
- Higher Than 51.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Just massive numbers all around for Doncic, but they’re so very warranted. Doncic has been incredible, and his usage has been to the moon without LeBron James in the fold.
He’s filling up the stat sheet, and until proven otherwise, I am convinced he’ll continue his historic beginning to the season. My only concern is that he’s been VERY efficient, but he’s been pouring in rebounds and assists.
Lakers vs Kings Last Game
Their most recent meeting came on December 28, 2024: Lakers 132-122 at Crypto.com Arena—a high-scoring affair where the Lakers pulled away late.
But here’s the context: the Lakers swept Sacramento 4-0 in the 2024-25 season, completely reversing the script after the Kings swept them 4-0 in 2023-24. All four of LA’s wins last season came by competitive margins.
Lakers vs Kings History
The all-time series heavily favors the Lakers at 285-168 (62.9%)—a dominant historical record. But recent history has been a tale of alternating dominance:
2024-25 Season: Lakers swept Kings 4-0
2023-24 Season: Kings swept Lakers 4-0
