Toronto Raptors vs Boston Celtics Props – Wednesday, October 15
The Raptors are wrapping up their preseason schedule, sitting at 3-1, and the vibes are legitimately positive heading into the regular season.
The Celtics are 2-1 in the preseason, but those numbers mask some serious roster upheaval and concerning trends.
Raptors Preview
The offense has shown serious firepower when it gets rolling. In their 130-122 win over Sacramento earlier this preseason, the Raptors absolutely scorched the nets from deep—54.1% from three-point range on 20-of-37 shooting.
It showcased what this roster can do when the shots are falling. Brandon Ingram went 4-for-4 from three in the first quarter alone against Sacramento, looking completely healthy after missing significant time with that ankle injury from last season.
Their most recent game was a 113-112 nail-biter against Washington on October 12. Looking at that box score, you can see the depth contributions—Scottie Barnes led the way with 10 points, but they got solid production throughout the lineup. The bench has been impressive, which matters when you’re trying to survive an 82-game grind.
The Brandon Ingram factor is real. He’s played in two of their four preseason games, and the Raptors went 2-0 in those contests. Against Sacramento, he dropped 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting with five threes made.
The dude looks completely comfortable in Toronto’s system, and adding a former All-Star scorer to a roster that already has Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett creates legitimate offensive versatility.
Celtics Preview
The elephant in the room: Jayson Tatum is out for the season (or most of it) with a ruptured Achilles. This completely changes what Boston is. They went from championship contender to “let’s see if we can make the playoffs” overnight.
The front office responded by essentially blowing up the roster—Jrue Holiday traded to Portland, Kristaps Porzingis dealt to Atlanta, Al Horford gone in free agency. They’ve retooled around Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and whatever they can get from new additions.
When Jaylen Brown and Derrick White play together, the Celtics look legitimately good. They crushed Memphis 121-103 in their opener, then absolutely demolished Cleveland 138-107 in their most recent game.
In that Cavs beatdown, Boston scored 70 first-half points and shot over 52% from the field. That’s the blueprint—push pace, shoot threes, let Brown and White cook.
But that 107-105 loss to Toronto on October 10? That was alarming. They blew a 27-point lead and committed 29 turnovers. The Celtics led by 14 points with just over three minutes remaining and still lost.
When Brown and White rested, the depth got absolutely exposed. Toronto’s bench unit—again, their BENCH—outplayed Boston’s reserves and completed the comeback.
Anfernee Simons (acquired from Portland in the Jrue Holiday deal) has shown flashes. He dropped 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three against Cleveland in just 25 minutes. That’s exactly the high-volume three-point shooting this system needs.
But his defense has been historically problematic throughout his career, and whether he can hold up on that end remains the massive question mark.

Toronto vs Boston NBA Props Tonight
Right now, you can find a supersar from each team listed at Underdog Fantasy.

Scottie Barnes will have to sacrifice some usage with the addition of Brandon Ingram in town. That might not be a bad thing, as he seems to be at his best when he’s distributing.
As far as Boston’s NBA props tonight, you can back Jaylen Brown’s 16.5 point projection or his 23.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists number.
Pick: Scottie Barnes Higher than 22.5 PRA. Not super confident in this one, but he may crack 23-25 minutes tonight against a Celtics team that has taken a hit defensively and may pick up the pace this year.
