Newcomers cannot go wrong by picking FanDuel Sportsbook as their introduction to mobile sports betting. It is easy to use, has a unique way to track the progress of your bet, and offers a great new customer promotion to get things started on the right foot.

Betrivers sportsbook: best for bettors in pa and de

Must Be 21+ & Physically In Legal State See more…
FeaturesDetails
Sportsbook NameBetRivers Sportsbook
Year Founded2016
Welcome BonusUp to $500 Second Chance Bet
Available StatesAZ, CO, DE, IL, IN, IA, LA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, WV

BetRivers Sportsbook is a solid sportsbook that offers all the betting options available everywhere else. Not much separates it from the competition, but it does have a great online casino and poker platform that is available in a few states, most notably Pennsylvania.

The reason that BetRivers is best for bettors in PA is because of the Rivers Casino retail locations in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Bettors who frequent those two popular casinos can earn iRush Rewards both in-person and online using the BetRivers app.

BetRivers is the best option in Delaware because it is the only mobile sportsbook available in the state. While we prefer open markets and competition for sports betting customers in every state, bettors in Delaware could do a lot worse than BetRivers.

BetRivers’ most notable quality is its iRush Rewards program. The iRush Rewards loyalty program offers special deals, birthday gifts, swag, electronics (e.g., iPad), and more. You’ll receive bigger and better rewards while moving up the 11 levels, ranging from Level 1 to Elite.

Pros

  • iRush Rewards program is one of the best in the industry
  • Second chance bonus bet is a great new customer offer
  • Tons of betting options
  • Available in 15 states

Cons

  • App doesn’t have as many bells and whistles as the competition
  • Not available in as many states as other sportsbooks
  • Featured bets offer little additional value

Bet365 sportsbook: best sportsbook app

Sportsbook NameBet365 Sportsbook
Year Founded2000

Bet365 Sportsbook may not be a household name, but it offers arguably the best sportsbook app in the business. Why? One look will answer that question. It is ridiculously intuitive and easy to use. The buttons and fonts are just the right size, and every sport and sporting event is where you would expect them to be.

The new customer offers and ongoing promotions are on the screen but not intrusively so, and it loads faster than the competition. This is a seriously good app that needs to be seen to be believed.

Pros

  • Best app in the industry
  • More betting options on lesser-known sports than any other sportsbook
  • One of the biggest sportsbooks in the world
  • Tons of odds boosts and other creative ongoing promotions

Fanatics sportsbook: best rewards variety

FeaturesDetails
Sportsbook NameFanatics Sportsbook
Year Founded2022
Welcome BonusUp to $1,000 in No Sweat Bets
Available StatesAZ, CO, CT, DC, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TN, VA, VT, WV, WY

Fanatics Sportsbook arguably has the best rewards program in the industry. Most sportsbooks let you redeem your points on bet credits and even hotel stays at their branded casinos. By tapping into the massive Fanatics brand, Fanatics Sportsbook offers a much wider array of options to use your points on.

If you’ve ever purchased a shirt or any other item of clothing with your favorite team’s logo on it, chances are you have interacted with the Fanatics brand. They are everywhere! They have partnerships with all four pro sports leagues and the NCAA.

You’ve probably shopped at a Fanatics online store without even knowing it. That means you have accumulated Fanatics FanCash Rewards points which can be redeemed on apparel, tickets, and, yes, bonus bet credits at Fanatics Sportsbook.

Each bet made on Fanatics Sportsbook earns the same FanCash Rewards points that can be used for the same Fanatics “experiences” as the apparel side of the company. This is great news for those who want something more from their rewards points than bet credits or a hotel stay.

Pros

  • Fanatics FanCash is an outstanding rewards program
  • Connected to the mammoth Fanatics brand that is everywhere these days
  • Rewards can be used on apparel and merchandise
  • Odds are competitive and a wide variety of betting options are available on the app

Cons

  • Sportsbook app doesn’t get stellar reviews
  • Aside from its rewards program, little is unique about the sportsbook experience
  • Odds on many sports are inferior to the competition

Best sportsbook bonuses & promotions

Each of the best betting sites reviewed above offers a variety of ongoing bonuses and promotions that deliver various amounts of actual value to their customers. The sections below will dive a little deeper into the most popular sportsbook promotions to explain how they work and the value they offer.

Bonus bets

Bonus bets are awarded after a first deposit or another action taken by the customer. For example, both FanDuel and DraftKings offer a bonus bets new customer promotion that usually pay out $150 in bonus bets after a first wager of $5.

FanDuel’s promotion requires new users to win their first bet in order to unlock the promotion, while DraftKings pays out the bonus bets immediately. Bonus bet promotions are the best type of new customer promotion currently offered by sportsbooks.

New Players Only, Must be 21+. Gambling Problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. Must be Present in Legal State. Full T&Cs Apply. Please Play Responsibly. See more…

Deposit match

Deposit match promotions were popular for a time, but they are much less common now. Some DFS sites still offer them, and we are glad they do, but the sportsbooks have moved on to different new customer offers. That is a shame because deposit match promotions are great! If a new player deposits a certain amount, such as $500, the sportsbook operator will match it, usually at 100%. There are often playthrough requirements related to the bonus funds, so you do need to check the Terms and Conditions before making your deposit.

Bet Back Bonus

A bet back bonus promotion ensures that your first bet is covered, win or lose, up to a certain amount. For example, BetMGM Sportsbook is currently offering a $1,500 first bet back promotion. If you sign up for an account, your first bet will be refunded if it loses, up to $1,500 in bonus bets. That way you’re back to where you started instead of in the hole after your first loss. If your first bet wins, you’re off to a great start but the promotion no longer applies.

Remember that first bet promotions don’t cover the second bet, so be careful when picking which bets you want to make on both your first and second bet if your first one is a loss. Some sportsbooks break up the bet credits into smaller units while others give them out as one credit. Be sure to check the Terms and Conditions before making your first wager. It would be a bummer to make a first bet that doesn’t qualify for the promotion.

Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER (Available in the US). Call 877-8-HOPENY or text HOPENY (467369) (NY), Call 1-800-327-5050 (MA), 1-800-NEXT-STEP (AZ), 1-800-BETS-OFF (IA), 1-800-981-0023 (PR). 21+ only. Please Gamble Responsibly. See BetMGM.com for Terms. First Bet Offer for new customers only (if applicable). Subject to eligibility requirements. Bonus bets are non-withdrawable. In partnership with Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel. This promotional offer is not available in DC, Mississippi, New York, Nevada, Ontario, or Puerto Rico. See more…

Profit boost

Profit boosts are a great promotion. They are pretty straightforward. If you win a bet that qualifies for the profit boost promotion, your profit is boosted by a certain amount. This is usually an ongoing promotion, but Caesars Sportsbook has creatively come up with a profit boost promotion for new customers.

New customers at Caesars can get a 100% profit boost on their first 10 wagers. This means that any of your first 10 wagers that end up winning will pay out twice as much. Each bet amount is capped at $25, so if you bet $25 on a +200 bet that ends up winning, you can get $150 instead of the normal $75 ($25 original wager + $50 winnings).

Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER (Available in the US) Call 877-8-HOPENY or text HOPENY (467369) (NY) Call 1-800-327-5050 (MA), 1-800-NEXT-STEP (AZ), 1-800-BETS-OFF (IA). 21+ only. Please Gamble Responsibly. Terms and conditions apply. Subject to eligibility requirements. Bonus bets are non-withdrawable. This promotional offer is not available in Mississippi, Nevada, Ontario, or Puerto Rico. See more…

Odds boosts

Odds boosts are very common at most sportsbooks. Selected sports and bet types, usually related to parlays, are “boosted” and pay out an additional amount. For example, if you’re in Arizona and find yourself on the BetRivers app, there might be an odds boost promotion for the upcoming Cardinals game. A three-leg parlay wager could be boosted to pay out +800 instead of the normal +600.

Be sure to check the details of the boosted promotion, however. Sometimes the value is less than expected. We’ve seen many examples of the promoted odds boost paying out even less than it would if you made the parlay on your own. Still, odds boosts are worth checking out if you like the underlying wager.

Referral bonuses

Referral bonuses are another way to earn some extra bonus bet credits. If you have an account at a sportsbook and give your friend a special referral code, usually as part of a website link, you both can get a referral bonus when your friend signs up for an account.

This is a great way to be rewarded for spreading the word about your favorite sportsbook. Remember that bet credits expire after a certain amount of time so be sure to use them soon after they land in your account.

Rewards programs

Most, but not all, sportsbooks have some sort of rewards program that awards you points for the bets you make on their sportsbook. As we mentioned above, Caesars and Fanatics have the best rewards programs. Each dollar you spend on their platforms earns you points that can be redeemed for hotel stays, merchandise, or bet credits. This is a great way to get some additional value for the bets you’re making anyway.

Sadly, FanDuel and bet365 do not offer sportsbook rewards programs. Be sure to check out whether there are any extra steps required to sign up for a rewards program. Most sign you up automatically when you open an account, but it’s important to check the Terms and Conditions to ensure you are making the most of your wagering activity.

How we chose the best betting sites

How did we choose the best betting sites? You might ask yourself that question. Why did we choose to feature the above sportsbooks as the ones we recommend for our readers when there are others to choose from? Here are the factors that we take into consideration when evaluating what makes a sportsbook one of the best in the industry.

  • New customer promotion – The promotion available for new customers has to be easy to access and offer actual value.
  • Ongoing promotions – The ongoing promotions should be plentiful, creative, and add value to the sportsbook experience
  • App performance – The app should load quickly and be easy to navigate. Finding upcoming events and a list of available sports should be intuitive and make sense. Promotions should be prominently displayed and the best slip should be easy to find. Since most people wager using a sportsbook app, it is more important than ever to get the small things right.
  • Odds prices – No sportsbook is going to have the most favorable prices on every sporting event, but the prices should consistently be competitive and in line with the competition
  • Variety of wagering options – Not everyone wants to wager on Portugese soccer, but if you do, you should be able to. Sportsbooks have enough information now to offer competitive prices on pretty much every sport in the world. The top sportsbooks need to offer wagering on the widest possible selection of sports leagues around the world.
  • Banking options – All the biggest e-wallets should be available as a banking option along with online banking and major credit cards. Deposits and withdrawals should be processed as soon as possible.
  • Customer service – It is important to have multiple channels for those who need help with their accounts. Live chat is essential these days, but email and telephone are also useful ways to get in touch with associates who can help resolve a problem. A robust FAQ and Help Center section is also handy so people can potentially resolve issues on their own.
  • Other – Intangibles like sports team partnerships, availability in a variety of states, large wagering limits, and many more factors separate the top sportsbooks from the competition. We recommend checking out a few different sportsbooks to decide which one is best for you.

Sports betting is now legal in 39 states plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Just 10 years ago, Nevada was the only state in the country that allowed single-game sports wagering. We’ve come a long way since PASPA was repealed in 2018.

There is still hope that at least a few of the nine states that do not allow sports betting will legalize it in the future. The table below lists the status of legal sports betting in every state.

  4. Get a new customer bonus. Our sportsbook ads located throughout this page have special links that give you the advertised new customer promotion without you having to do anything. The promotion is automatically added to your account during the signup process. However, a few websites do require you to add a promo code when signing up to ensure you get the right bonus. Be sure to check if a promo code is required with creating a new sportsbook account. It would be a bummer to miss out on a generous new customer offer.
  5. Make a deposit using one of the many banking options available at all the major sportsbooks. Each sportsbook has different banking options, but they all have the same core group of well-known ways to fund your account. Major e-wallets like PayPal are accepted, as are major credit cards. Online banking is usually also an option, and some accept cash at the casino cage and even wire transfers. Deposit options vary by sportsbook and state, and remember that not every deposit option is also available as a withdrawal option.
  6. Start wagering! Now that you have signed up for an account, the fun part begins. Once your account is created and funded, you can start wagering on your favorite teams and sporting events. If you signed up for a sportsbook with a first bet promotion, remember to check the terms and conditions before making your first wager. Some sportsbooks have minimum and/or maximum odds connected to their promotions, and it would be very frustrating to think you made a wager that qualifies for a promotion only to later learn that it did not meet the requirements.
  7. Manage your account. If you need to withdraw funds, you will need to log back in after making your first wagers. Additionally, if you have promotional bet credits to use, they often expire after just seven (7) days, so you will need to access your account to use the credits. Customer service is also available, usually through a chat function, if you have any problems with your account. Good luck and happy wagering!

Best betting sites bet types

Every sportsbook offers the same bet types. The prices and availability of different wagers may vary by sportsbook and state, but the following bet types are always offered by every major sportsbook. Below is more on what bet types you can expect to find when you open up your favorite sportsbook app.

Parlay (including same-game parlay)

It is not surprising that parlay wagers have become so popular lately. People have always enjoyed trying to turn a small amount of money into a large amount, and there is no better way to do that than to win a parlay bet. By combining multiple bets into a single one, you can increase the potential payout.

The downside is that all your bets, or legs, need to win for you to win the bet. If you have a four-leg parlay and just one come up short, you don’t win the bet. Still, parlays are a fun way to bet a few bucks because sometimes they do hit. Just remember to bet responsibly.

Point spread

A point spread wager is betting on which team will win the game, but the team has to win by a certain amount for you to win the bet. For example, if the Dolphins are favored by 5.5 over the Saints in an upcoming game, they have to win by 6 or more for you to win the bet.

The number 5.5 is the point spread. If you want to take the Saints, you will win the bet if they win outright or lose by 5 points or fewer. And yes, we know there are no half-points in the NFL. The reason sportsbooks use half-points is to eliminate any ties, which result in a push and the original bet amount being refunded.

Futures

A futures bet is on something that happens in the future. Generally they are related to whether a team will win some sort of title, like a division title or a championship, but they can also be tied to a future result, such as a team’s final record.

Futures tie up your bankroll for a long time, but they can offer value if you think the price is misplaced. For example, the Seahawks’ predicted win total was listed by most sports at 7.5 games before the 2025 NFL season started, meaning you would win the Over bet if they won 8 or more games. Many Seahawks fans thought this was a great deal because the national media was underestimating the team.

Over/under

An over/under (also known as totals) bet is just predicting whether the final result will be over or under a certain number. For example, if you think the Bears-Lions game will be a barnburner, you can bet that the teams will score over a predicted combined total of 49 points.

Prop bets

Prop bets are wagers on player or team activity unrelated to the outcome of the game. Player prop bets, like the ones we discuss every day here on Props.com, are a hugely popular bet type offered by every sportsbook. Hundreds of prop bets are listed for each NFL game, for example, and there are tons more on pretty much every high-profile sporting event, no matter the sport.

Most prop bets are tied to a certain number, like an over-under bet. For example, if you think Caleb Williams will throw for at least 2 TDs when the Bears play the Lions, you can bet that he will throw for 2+ TDs. They are often presented as a Yes/No wager, so if you think he will throw for 2 or more TDs you would bet Yes. Prop bets are an easy and fun bet type available every day on all the biggest sportsbooks.

Teaser

A teaser bet is a multi-leg wager like a parlay, but the line is adjusted, or “teased,” toward the direction of your choice. For example, if you think the Bears will lose a close one to the Lions, you can tease the spread of Bears +4 to Bears +10, which means you win if the Bears win outright or lose by 9 points or fewer.

Six-point teasers are standard for NFL bets. The payout is reduced, and all the legs still need to win for you to win the bet, but the odds are more favorable in a teaser as opposed to a parlay bet.

Responsible gambling info and resources

Betting on sports is a form of entertainment, like going to the movies or playing video games. Wagering should be done responsibly and within your means. If you or someone you know thinks they might have a problem with their gambling, there are many responsible gambling organizations that offer their services to anyone free of charge.

Additionally, all the legal sportsbooks featured in this page are committed to ensuring their customers gamble safely and responsibly. They let you set deposit and time limits on your account and also make it easy for you to place yourself on a self-exclusion list that is administered by the state.

If you put yourself on the self-exclusion list, sportsbooks are required to prohibit you from visiting their retail locations and accessing their apps. These self-imposed breaks can be permanent or last anywhere from 1-5 years.

Best Betting Sites FAQ

What are the best betting sites?

The best betting site differs based on personal preference, but we recommend all of the apps listed in this page. For those new to betting, your best bet would be DraftKings or FanDuel because they are available in the most states and are generally the easiest to navigate.

Which sportsbook app has the most generous new customer bonus?

All sportsbook new customer bonus offers deliver some degree of value. However, not every offer is suited for every type of customer. For example, someone who doesn’t want to risk very much money wouldn’t have a lot of use for the BetMGM bet back offer worth up to $1,500. That said, we at Props.com would say the most generous customer bonuses are the ones that offer bonus bet credits after making a small wager, such as the DraftKings and FanDuel bet/get offers.

What are the best sportsbook promos?

Sportsbooks offer ongoing promotions in addition to offers for new customers. The best sportsbook promos are odds boosts and other offers that increase the potential payout of a wager. Many boosted bets are tied to a specific upcoming event, but some sportsbooks offer odds boost tokens that can be used on any sport or event. Those are the best ones, but they all offer good value.

What are the best apps for betting on NFL football?

Every sportsbook offers plenty of wagering on NFL football games. Every game is available along with hundreds of prop bets related to just about every aspect of the game. However, we think the three apps that have officially partnered with the NFL are the best apps for betting on NFL football. FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, and Caesars Sportsbook have the widest variety of NFL wagers and offer the most comprehensive coverage of the NFL and its myriad betting opportunities.

Which betting sites have the best odds?

There is no one betting site that has the best odds on every single sporting event. Each site sets their own odds and adjusts them in real time as bets come in. It’s all about managing risk and ensuring that each line listed has as close to an equal number of bets on each side as they can get. That said, we recommend checking out multiple sportsbooks if there is a bet you want to make. This is particularly important for futures bets or bets on lesser-known sports. NFL lines aren’t much different, but lines on Portugese soccer matches could vary wildly, for example. An informed bettor is a successful bettor.

What are the best sites for live betting?

Bet365 Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook are the best sites for live betting because they have the best technology to offer live action that most closely matches the progress of the game in real time.

Is FanDuel or DraftKings better?

This is a question that gets asked a lot. In fact, it gets asked so often that we created a page to help settle the debate of whether FanDuel or DraftKings is the better sportsbook option. For more information on this important topic, check out our FanDuel vs. DraftKings page. The short answer is that FanDuel is best for casual and inexperienced bettors while DraftKings is better for those with more experience and bigger bankrolls.

What is the safest betting app?

There is no safest betting app because all the apps listed in this page are equally safe. They are all legal and fully regulated in the states in which they operate, which includes strict safeguards on information security. Your personal and financial information is safe if you use a legal, regulated sportsbook.
