Rashod Bateman higher than 34.5 receiving yards. This Ravens-Steelers game is setting up to be something completely different than what we’ve come to expect from Ravens-Steelers games, namely that there might be a touchdown or 12 scored. The Ravens have the best offense in football and the worst secondary, which should translate to Lamar Jackson and Co. keeping their foot on the pedal.
And while Bateman has traditionally been the deep threat (though not much of a threat) in this Ravens offense, that hasn’t exactly been the case this year, working more in the intermediate areas of the field. And it’s paid off, as he’s seen only one game with fewer than four targets, and he’s exceeded this yardage number six out 10 times – and two of the misses came in blowouts.
This game is not setting up as a blowout, and so we love this number.
Next up, we love Christian McCaffrey higher than 28.5 receiving yards against the Seahawks. In his first game back last week, McCaffrey had 68 receiving yards. Last year, he topped this number seven times – but had games of 25, 25, 27, 27, and 28. Close but no cigar.
Add in the fact the 49ers are 5-4 and have to keep winning, and the fact McCaffrey is fresh, and the fact he was thrown right into the fire last week … yeah, it adds up.
Next, we head to Denver where the resurgent Courtland Sutton just needs to go higher than 53.5 yards to keep this train a-rollin’. After being blanked in Week 7, something has been unlocked in Sutton over the last three weeks, with yardage totals of 100, 122, and 70 to go along with 21 receptions.
There’s no reason to think this upward swing won’t continue at home against the Falcons. Not necessarily because the Falcons aren’t talented on the back end, but simply because it would appear Sutton and Bo Nix are on the same page. This one feels a good 15 yards too low.
Lastly, let’s go to New Orleans, where we will take Taysom Hill to go higher than 16.5 receiving yards. He was all over the field last week, has two catches for 36 yards (and an 88-yard touchdown called back on a ticky-tack holding penalty). He ran a route on a season high 59% of snaps, and he is operating out wide or in the slot about 75% of the time over the last few weeks.
In short: He is the team’s top wide receiver, basically. He should smash through this number
