Founded in Australia, PointsBet introduced its innovative bookmaking style in the U.S. in January 2019, launching in New Jersey. It boasts a fast and user-friendly app, offering a top-notch overall experience to sports bettors.

PointsBet Sportsbook offers traditional sports betting options and “PointsBetting,” a high-risk, high-reward wagering style. “PointsBetting” wagers allow bettors to win (or lose) more money based on the margin of victory. This innovative and unique way to bet has been well received.

The PointsBet betting site also offers a variety of bettor-first initiatives such as Good Karma Payouts, Early Payments, PointsBet Sports Highlghts, odds boosts, and a $10,000 gameday guarantee for all NBA playoff games. In addition, PointsBet Sportsbook presents one of the largest selections of markets for all four major U.S. sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL). NBA games, for example, can produce more than 1,000 ways to bet on a single game.

Former NFL quarterback Drew Brees is a PointsBet spokesperson, helping the platform rise to prominence as a sports betting site after PointsBet New Jersey launched in January 2019. It has a presence now in eight U.S. states and continues to explore new markets.

The company also has a crucial partnership with NBC Universal, an official gaming partner. PointsBet has emerged as a leading platform in the United States due to its partnerships and excellent user experience.

U.S. bettors can access PointsBet as a mobile app for Android and Apple iOS devices. You can also access the PointsBet site directly through a web browser, with no download required.

What Sets PointsBet Sportsbook Apart?

PointsBet Sportsbook has introduced several unique sports markets to make it stand out from the other sportsbooks in the U.S. In addition, the options for fixed-odds betting and “PointsBetting” wagers at PointsBet Sportsbook exist.

PointsBetting Wagers

You can only find the “PointsBetting” wagering style at PointsBet. A PointsBetting (aka points betting) wager multiplies your winnings or losses on a bet based on the margin of victory.

For example, a recent NBA PointsBetting line saw the Philadelphia 76ers as a 10-point favorite against the Orlando Magic. So if you bet $10 on the 76ers and they win by exactly 10 points, you win $10.

However, you can bet up to a 50x multiplier, and if Philadelphia wins by more than 10 points, you win an additional $10 for each point over the 10-point spread. Conversely, you can lose up to your set multiplier if the 76ers fail to cover the (-10) spread, losing an additional $10 for each point under the (-10) spread.

Parlay Insurance

Parlay insurance is quite common, an option offered by many betting apps and online sportsbooks. PointsBet presents slightly better betting opportunities than any direct competitors. PointsBet can refund $25 if a parlay bet loses one leg (with at least four selections).

No Juice NFL lines

PointsBet offered spreads on all NFL games with no juice in the 2019 NFL season. Juice refers to the fees a sportsbook charges to process your bet in the odds.

For lines usually offered at –110, the no juice NFL promo is available at +110. This promo applied to all games. The No Juice lines at PointsBet offer some of the most player-friendly wagers in the industry.

Boosted Odds

Bettors can use boost odds to place wagers on unique events to get artificially favorable betting lines. For example, oddsmakers might shift the odds from -115 to +105 on a boosted bet.

Live Streaming

PointsBet offers just about all major sports for wagering and a complete package of live streaming sports coverage. In addition, PointsBet Sportsbook presents its live streaming coverage in partnership with Genius Sports.

The combination of live streaming and innovative live betting makes PointsBet one of the most unique online sportsbooks in the U.S. PointsBet operates in some of the biggest U.S. sports betting markets, including New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, and several others.

How To Claim Your Bonus At PointsBet

PointsBet offers an easy registration process. You can find the registration area in the upper-right corner of your desktop platform. After choosing the correct state, the user creates a password and enters standard details (name, email address, phone number, and physical address). You will also need the last four digits from your social security number.

  • Click on one of the “CLAIM OFFER” or “BET NOW” links located throughout this review page. That link will take you to the PointsBet website.
  • Select your state from the dropdown menu that appears at the top of the “CREATE ACCOUNT” page.
  • Enter your first and last name, and a valid email address. Once those details are entered, click the red “CONTINUE” tab at the bottom of the page.
  • On the next form that appears, enter your date of birth, last four digits of your SSN, your mobile phone number, and your address. Choose a password, and click the terms and agreements boxes at the bottom of the form.
  • Click “JOIN POINTSBET” at the bottom of the screen to create your account. Make a $50 bet, and you’ll be eligible for $150 in shopping credit once you make your first deposit.

PointsBet verifies the location of the user’s I.P. address via geolocation software. Users not in an eligible state are not allowed to wager real money using PointsBet’s online gambling site. You don’t have to live in the state from which you want to wager, but you must be physically located in an eligible state when you make a bet.

The app will use electronic verification software to confirm that your information matches publicly available records. PointsBet does not require you to attach any supporting documentation for creating a new account.

Once the account is verified, you can make deposits. State policies determine which deposit options are available.

You can generally deposit funds with Visa/MasterCard credit card, a PayPal account, or ACH/eCheck. You can also use PayNearMe in some states to make cash transactions at CVS, Family Dollar, and 7-Eleven. The PointsBet Play+ Card, a reloadable debit card that you can use to withdraw money from ATMs, is also an option.

PayPal and PayNearMe require a $5 minimum deposit. However, ACH (bank transfer) and debit/credit cards require a $10 minimum deposit. In addition, PayNearMe caps deposits at $500, while Play+ Card limits deposits to $5,000.

You can bet via the PointsBet mobile app or at the desktop site. Android users can download the PointsBet app at the Google Play Store, while Apple iOS users can find the PointsBet app at the App Store. Check out our Desktop vs. Mobile guide for more information.

Is PointsBet Legit?

PointsBet, while relatively new in the U.S. market, is a well-known brand in Australia. It has a long history of protecting its customers’ private information. The platform is also heavily-regulated and legal. As a result, you can trust it with your personal information, including social security numbers. Is PointsBet legit? You can rest assured that the answer is yes.

Who Regulates PointsBet?

As a long-standing industry member with a global presence, PointsBet operates with a solid reputation. However, it must still be licensed and regulated to offer its services.

PointsBet operates in the following states:

Bonuses And Features

PointsBet is an excellent online sportsbook. It has a reputation for providing attractive bonuses, great desktop sites, excellent customer service, and fast payouts. After serving the Australian market for years, the brand knows how to win over a sports bettor. The sports betting desktop website and app operate in numerous states.

The welcome bonus offers are generous and followed by ongoing promotions. In addition, the sportsbook presents easy navigation and markets for many sports.

Betting format options include the most common bet types (money lines, fixed odds bets, and spread betting) and newer options, such as live betting. Compared to other online sportsbooks, sports fans will generally find competitive odds. However, the brand also offers its trademark betting, called “PointsBetting.” PointsBetting allows you to win (or lose) more money based on the final margin of the bet.

PointsBet also offers a loyalty program through two possible VIP clubs: the Platinum Clubs and Diamond Clubs. They are available only by invitation but provide a lot of perks.

Platinum Club: Bettors get additional risk-free wagers, a 5% deposit top-up, premium services, red carpet referrals, and personalized bonus offers. This is the club that most bettors join and then progress to the Diamond Club.

Diamond Club: Bettors are eligible for all the perks of Platinum Club except that instead of a 5% deposit topping up, it is 10%. They get a 24/7 account manager and access to tickets, events, and expedited withdrawals up to $10,000 within 30 minutes of initiating a transaction.

How Do I Get Paid if I Win?

PointsBet has three primary withdrawal methods: ACH, PayPal, and Online Banking. PayPal withdrawals are for users who have previously used the service as a deposit option. Online Banking requires a direct log-in to your bank; ACH requires information from your driver’s license and routing numbers.

The PayPal option only appears if used to make a deposit. These withdrawals take 1-2 business days, and there are limits to how much you can withdraw at once.

Online banking works through over 2,000 banks, and transactions are processed within 1-2 business days. Moreover, there is no limit to how much can be withdrawn.

ACH withdrawals will require additional information to be provided (driver’s license or other identification). They take 1-2 days to be processed and another 2-3 days for the funds to arrive. The book doesn’t limit the withdrawal amount; however, the processor might.

Darrin Verderame (Caldwell, NJ)

I like wagering with PointsBet because of the many different promos they offer. They also have quick parlay which makes it easier to put in a parlay so you don’t get shut out. The site seems to be very quick when you navigate. It’s also easy to find what you’re looking for. Next Up feature tells you what games are coming up, which is great. They also have a very good rewards program. You could also request a wager if you don’t see it available. They could improve their customer service. I don’t like that there aren’t too many options for payouts.

William Smith (Philadelphia, PA)

PointsBet has a hefty risk-free sign-up bonus which is always a great draw to get you in the door. Their promotion is $2k risk free which I love. I do enjoy the layout of the app and they make it very simple to find the games and sports you’re looking for. I also really enjoy their bet booster odds hub. I love having bet boosts and enjoy analyzing them and it has made me pivot into different sports and enhanced my sporting knowledge and interest. I wish they had more of a rewards program and bonuses for current customers.

John Allaire (Arlington, VA)

I was pretty impressed with the app overall. The new user promos are pretty enticing— basically a risk-free bet up to $500. The app and web-platforms are fast, smooth, intuitive and easy to learn. The sportsbook has a contemporary and professional design but it has a dark background which isn’t as easy to go through and read as a FanDuel. There’s no clutter and account information is clear and accessible. I noticed the chat tool was pretty good as well for customer service. I would like to see more bets available, but the lines were pretty good and better than the ones that I saw on some other sites. The Pointsbet concept is pretty cool (win more $ when your team wins by more). Biggest positives are the ability to choose a line and also the parlay boost, but must have 3 or more teams.

Christian Dulin (Philadelphia, PA)

PointsBet is one of the newest sport books available in Pennsylvania and I absolutely love it!! The new sign-up bonus was fantastic with an option of either $1.5k risk free or $200 when a player scores a basket. The ability to split your free bet is something I’ve never seen before. I also became hooked on points betting, essentially you can win more money than ever before! They have same game parlays and very generous odds on all of the games, with certain props available that are not anywhere else. The withdrawal process is quick and easy. I just think they need to improve their initial verification check. I did not like having to input my full social and upload personal information.
