NBA Injuries For Friday, December 12th
Injuries are a big part of any NBA betting cheat sheet. Today, it will be absolutely crucial to check the NBA injury report right before games tip off tonight to see the status of Tyrese Maxey, whose injury designation has suddenly become the most integral piece of information on the entire slate.
Maxey was probable yesterday, and then he got that morning downgrade to questionable as he battles an illness. That’s the kind of fluid situation that can completely change the betting landscape in a matter of hours.
Here’s what we know: Joel Embiid and Paul George played serious minutes for the first time against the Lakers during the Sixers’ last game, and they’ve had a few days off to get some real rest. That’s huge for their availability and workload tonight.
If Maxey sits, the ripple effects are massive:
Quentin Grimes would play a much bigger part of the rotation, and we’ve seen him have some legitimate spike games this season when given expanded opportunities.
Jared McCain becomes really interesting value in DFS and props. He could see a significant usage bump if Maxey is out.
Also, remember: Kelly Oubre Jr. is also out for Philadelphia, which further opens up minutes and touches across the roster.
Bottom line: do not lock your lineups or bets until you have confirmation on Maxey’s status. This is one of those situations where waiting until the last possible moment could be the difference between cashing and missing entirely.
