We asked our Props analyst, Justin Bales, to come up with his best NFL ladder bet for Week 4’s Monday Night Football matchups.

If you’re not familiar with this kind of play, a ladder bet is essentially betting on a prop at multiple lines with the odds getting progressively larger the further up the ladder you go.

Don’t Look Down – NFL Week 4 MNF Ladder Bet

We’ve done the research for you here and below we’ll dive into all of the rationale for our best NFL ladder bet for Week 4 MNF.

Sam LaPorta Receiving Yards Ladder

LaPorta’s had a bit of an up-and-down start to the 2024 season. He owns 8 receptions for 94 yards on 9 targets through 3 games. He only played 16 snaps in his last game because of an injury.

LaPorta is coming off an elite rookie season, though, which is extremely difficult for the tight end position. He posted 86 receptions for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns on 118 targets. He also topped out at 140 yards against the New Orleans Saints.

LaPorta gets a great matchup against the Seattle Seahawks tonight. They’ve struggled against tight ends, allowing the fourth-most yards (57.0) per game to the position. The Seahawks are also allowing the fourth-most targets (8.0) per game to tight ends.

We saw somewhat mixed results for tight ends against Seattle early in 2024. The Denver Broncos recorded only 12 receiving yards, although they’re an awful offense at this point. In the last two weeks, Hunter Henry posted 109 yards, while the Miami Dolphins tight ends combined for 46 yards.

LaPorta’s an option that moves around the formation. He plays the majority of his snaps as an in-line tight end, but he also sees significant time in the slot and out wide. It gives Detroit an edge, allowing them to find the best ways to get him the ball.

Seattle’s been elite against wide receivers. They’ve also found plenty of success against receiving running backs. That leaves the tight end as the obvious option, and LaPorta is one of the best options in the NFL.

I do have some concerns with his recent injury, but I would expect him to be fully healthy if Detroit is willing to play him in this type of game.

What to Play: Sam LaPorta 40+ receiving yards through 90+ receiving yards
