Best NFL Player Props: Super Bowl 58

Our staff’s NFL player props record stands at 15-9 while up 4.85 units in the playoffs so far.

We’ll put that success on the line by asking four of our analysts to list their favorite pair of prop bets for Super Bowl 58.

Let’s start with Spencer Limbach, who is 24-18 while up +4.56 units on NFL player props this season.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey Over 33.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Analyst: Spencer Limbach

I took the over on CMC’s receiving yards in the NFC Championship (which hit), and the same logic applies to the Super Bowl.

McCaffrey is a target monster out of the backfield, and he should play nearly every offensive snap in this game.

Over his last five games, the 49ers RB is averaging 5.2 receptions on 7.4 targets for 40 receiving yards.

The Kansas City Chiefs allowed Baltimore and Buffalo RBs to exceed 48 receiving yards in each of the last two games.

Where to bet: Christian McCaffrey over 33.5 receiving yards | -110 at FanDuel Sportsbook

49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk Over 3.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Analyst: Spencer Limbach

This won’t be a popular Super Bowl player prop, but there’s a ton of value in this selection. Here’s why:

  • DraftKings has Juszczyk at -190 odds to make one reception.
  • He has 14 receptions on the season. Only one has been under 4 yards.
  • Juszczyk had 2 catches for 33 yards last game against the Lions.
  • He has gone over 3.5 receiving yards in four of his last five games.

In other words, if Juszczyk makes a catch (with the odds imply will happen), there’s a very good chance it will go for 4+ yards and this prop will cash.

Where to bet: Kyle Juszczyk over 3.5 receiving yards | -110 at Bet365

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Anytime Touchdown (+140)

Analyst: Justin Bales

Rice is putting together an outstanding rookie season for the Kansas City Chiefs. He boasts 99 receptions for 1,161 yards and 8 touchdowns on 123 targets. He’s also been featured for Kansas City in the playoffs.

The one key that most people likely don’t realize for Rice is that he leads the Chiefs in red zone targets. He’s seen 3 more red zone targets than Travis Kelce (19), and he’s posted a 25% red zone target share this season. More impressively, he’s seen a team-high 11 targets inside the 10-yard-line.

Rice hasn’t been a consistent scorer in recent games, but he’s found the end zone plenty this season. He also scored against the Miami Dolphins in the Wild Card Round, giving him the first playoff touchdown of his career.

San Francisco is a great defense overall, but they’ve struggled to keep wide receivers out of the end zone at times. They’re giving up 0.94 touchdowns per game to the position. That’s the ninth-most in the NFL.

We’re getting great odds on Rice, who should continue a massive role this weekend.

Where to Bet: Rashee Rice – Anytime TD | +140 at FanDuel Sportsbook

49ers QB Brock Purdy Over 0.5 Interceptions (-120)

Analyst: Justin Bales

If you know me, you know that I think Purdy is grossly overrated. We saw it against the Green Bay Packers, where they dropped an interception early on followed by throwing an interception against the Detroit Lions.

This bet is all about pressure, though. Kansas City ranks second in the NFL in pressure rate. Purdy’s thrown 22 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions in a clean pocket compared to 11 touchdowns a 7 interceptions when under pressure.

Overall, Purdy posted a 2.2% turnover-worthy play rate in a clean pocket compared to a 5.5% rate when pressured. That’s been the case in the playoffs as well, although the sample size is limited.

Overall, Kansas City isn’t elite in terms of interception, but I’m trusting that the bright lights will once again get to Purdy.

Where to Bet: Brock Purdy over 0.5 interceptions | -120 at BetMGM

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Under 71.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Analyst: Josh Shepardson

Travis Kelce has excelled in the playoffs, posting 71, 75, and 116 receiving yards against the Dolphins, Bills, and Ravens. Nevertheless, he’s averaged 69.2 receiving yards in 18 games this season, with a median of 68. Kelce had under 71.5 receiving yards 11 times this season.

The matchup is also challenging. While the 49ers have coughed up 102 receiving yards to Trey McBride, 97 to Sam LaPorta, and 86 to T.J. Hockenson, those were the only tight ends to exceed 71.5 receiving yards against the 49ers this season. The bigger bodies of work for Kelce and the 49ers are encouraging for the veteran tight end to come up short of 71.5 receiving yards in the Super Bowl.

Where to bet: Travis Kelce under 71.5 receiving yards | -110 at FanDuel Sportsbook

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey Over 90.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Analyst: Josh Shepardson

Christian McCaffrey is a monster on the ground, averaging 91.5 rushing yards per game this season, with a median of 94. CMC had over 90.5 rushing yards 10 times in 18 games.

He has a tantalizing matchup in the Super Bowl, even if it doesn’t appear so at a glance. Zamir White (145 rushing yards) and Josh Jacobs (110) were the only running backs to steamroll the Chiefs for over 90.5 rushing yards this season.

However, according to Sumer Sports, the Chiefs allowed the fifth-most Expected Points Added (EPA) per rush attempt in the regular season. The Lions were tied for the second-lowest EPA per rush allowed in the regular season, and CMC had 90 rushing yards against them last week. McCaffrey should eat in this matchup.

Where to bet: Christian McCaffrey over 90.5 rushing yards | -115 at BetMGM

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey Over 34.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Analyst: John Supowitz

The Chiefs were a top-notch defense this year, so it will be tough for the 49ers to move the ball. They are tough up front against the run but have the secondary to contain the pass. They have a weak point, which benefits one of the best offensive players in the league.

Kansas City has struggled against dual-threat running backs, specifically in the receiving game, as they’ve allowed the fourth-most receiving yards to the position. McCaffrey was second in receiving yards, so look for him to get utilized in the passing game.

Where to bet: Christian McCaffrey Over 34.5 Receiving Yards | -115 at DraftKings Sportsbook

49ers WR Deebo Samuel’s First Catch Over 10.5 Yards (-110)

Analyst: John Supowitz

You can say 2022 was a down year for Samuel — as he dealt with injuries, but 2023 was a resurgence. He finished the year ninth amongst receivers in yards after the catch and was top in juke rate. This is a guy we know who can make something out of nothing.

Kansas City is excellent against yards gained after the catch, but that credit goes to the secondary; Samuel is not a guy who will run routes that far, and the Chiefs struggle at stopping plays out on the flat.

Where to bet: Deebo Samuel’s First Catch Over 10.5 Yards | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
