NBA Injuries Today – Tuesday, Nov. 18
We’ll highlight some of the biggest stars and what the DFS/betting implications are.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks, PF) – OUT (left groin strain)
This is the story of the day. Giannis left Monday’s game against Cleveland in the second quarter after suffering a left groin strain. He was unable to finish after scoring 14 points in just 13 minutes on 6-of-10 shooting. Bucks coach Doc Rivers said after the game: “Didn’t look great, I can tell you that.” Giannis is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday (today).
What this means for fantasy: Giannis has been averaging 32.6 PPG (2nd in NBA), 11.3 RPG, and 7.1 APG this season. The Bucks are now 8-7 and sit 9th in the East. Groin injuries can linger for weeks—just look at Paolo Banchero (Magic), who’s been out since early November with a similar injury. If Giannis misses extended time, Milwaukee is in serious trouble.
LeBron James (Lakers, F) – QUESTIONABLE (sciatica/back)
LeBron has been upgraded to QUESTIONABLE for tonight’s game vs Utah after returning to full practice on Monday. This would be his season debut after missing the first 14 games while rehabbing sciatica. Lakers coach JJ Redick called him “TBD” for tonight, but the fact that he’s practicing fully is a huge sign.
Victor Wembanyama (Spurs, C) – OUT (calf strain, 2-3 weeks)
Wemby has been ruled out for the next 2-3 weeks with a calf strain. He’s been averaging monster numbers this season and his absence is a huge blow to San Antonio’s frontcourt. The Spurs are 9-4 and playing Memphis tonight on NBC/Peacock.
Look for De’Aaron Fox to have a huge usage bump while he’s gone.
Joel Embiid (76ers, C) – DAY-TO-DAY (knee soreness)
Embiid has been dealing with ongoing knee issues and remains day-to-day. He missed the 76ers’ Nov. 17 game vs the Clippers (PHI won 110-108). Paul George made his season debut in that game after offseason knee surgery, scoring 9 points in 21 minutes. Tyrese Maxey dropped 39 points and has been carrying Philly’s offense all season. Philly is off tonight.
Paolo Banchero & Jalen Suggs – OUT
Both are dealing with groin injuries and will miss tonight’s game vs Golden State. This is a massive blow for Orlando, which is 7-7 and struggling to stay above .500. With Banchero and Suggs out, Franz Wagner (23.1 PPG) and Desmond Bane (16.5 PPG) will need to carry the offensive load.

The Biggest Props & Betting Angles for Tonight
Let’s talk some NBA betting and DFS.
Lakers -12.5 @ Jazz (10:30 PM ET)
The Lakers are laying 12.5 points against a Jazz team that’s 5-8 and getting destroyed at home. That being said, Lauri Markkanen has carried the Jazz team at times. This is no auto-bet.
Celtics -10.5 @ Nets (7:30 PM ET)
The Nets are 2-11 and on a six-game home losing streak. The Celtics are 7-7 but have dominated Brooklyn historically (won last 4 head-to-head matchups). Brooklyn is averaging 110.5 PPG (27th in NBA) while allowing 121.9 PPG (23rd). This is a mismatch. Celtics could cover easily.
