NFL Preseason Player Props Today: Thursday, August 7th
Our guy Justin Bales has been on the football grind all summer, and he’s back to share his favorite plays from Thursday’s slate, which includes:
- Colts at Ravens – 7 p.m. ET
- Bengals at Eagles – 7:30 p.m. ET
- Raiders at Seahawks – 10 p.m. ET
Joe Burrow Higher Than 69.5 Passing Yards
Head coach Zac Taylor already said he’s going to play starters in the first preseason game to avoid a slow start to the regular season again. Joe Burrow and company are going to play a couple of series. Essentially, we can assume they’ll play two series or the first quarter.
It’s strange listing a star player as one of the best NFL preseason player props today, but things should be different than 2024’s exhibition.

Burrow played one series in the preseason opener last season, throwing for 51 yards on only 7 attempts. He also didn’t have Ja’Marr Chase in that game. He’s far too good for preseason, which is why we can play this high of a total at two drives.
Another aspect is that we know the Philadelphia Eagles won’t play their starters.
Burrow, Chase, and Tee Higgins will get multiple series against Philadelphia’s backups, and I expect them to find plenty of success while on the field.

Jalen Milroe Higher Than 81.5 Passing Yards
We don’t have a definitive plan from the Seattle Seahawks at the moment, but we know Sam Darnold won’t play.
That leaves only Milroe and Drew Lock. The latter is set as the QB2 for this season, meaning he may not see all that much time in this game.
There have been reports that the Seahawks expect to get an extensive look at Milroe during the preseason, and that makes sense. We know what Lock is at this point, and Milroe needs to reps.
I’d expect Milroe to play at least a half in this game. Truthfully, I believe he’ll likely see more than a half, but that feels safer.
Assuming he splits the reps 50/50 with Lock, it’s too low of a total for him. If he finds more snaps, we’re getting a massive bargain, and that’s why he’s one of my favorite NFL preseason player props today.
