Rhamondre Stevenson Rushing & Receiving Yards Ladder
Stevenson’s locked into a massive role as the focal point of the New England Patriots offense. He’s recorded 201 yards and 2 touchdowns on 46 carries through 2 games. He added 15 yards on 5 receptions (7 targets) through the air.
Stevenson’s advanced metrics look great as well. He’s forced 13 missed tackles, recording 170 yards after contact this season. He also has 51 breakaway yards with three separate runs over 15 yards.
We haven’t seen Stevenson dominate in the passing game yet this season, but he’s run 41 routes through 2 games. Last season, we saw him post 40+ receiving yards in a trio of games, topping out at 64 yards. He’s essentially on pace with last season regarding routes run per game.
Stevenson gets an interesting matchup against the New York Jets on Thursday. They haven’t been good against running backs, allowing 114.5 rushing yards per game to the position. The Jets are also allowing 48 receiving yards per game to running backs.
It’s important to understand the context of New York’s defense, though, as the numbers don’t tell the whole story. Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears combined for 51 receiving yards in Week 2. They added 82 yards on the ground in that game.
Week 1 is where it gets a bit more “interesting.” Jordan Mason dominated New York, posting 147 yards on the ground. He only added 5 yards through the air, although fullback (who has his stats used for running backs) Kyle Juszcyk added 40 yards through the air.
The spread is nearly a touchdown, which is a bit concerning, but that could add to the value of betting on Stevenson’s rushing and receiving combined.
The Patriots will need to rely heavily on Stevenson early in this game to keep it competitive, and he should see 20+ touches once again this week.
